Setup

  1. Battery Installation:

    Unscrew the tailcap of the headlamp. Insert the 21700 lithium-ion battery with the positive (+) end facing towards the head of the flashlight. Screw the tailcap back on securely.

  2. Charging the Battery:

    The HS41 features a USB Type-C port for convenient charging. Connect the provided USB-C cable to the headlamp and a 5V/3A charger (not included). The indicator light will flash red during charging and turn green when fully charged. A full charge takes approximately 2 hours.

  3. Attaching the Head Strap:

    Slide the headlamp into the rubber holder on the adjustable head strap. Ensure it is securely fitted. Adjust the strap for a comfortable and snug fit on your head.

Operating Instructions

The SOFIRN HS41 offers multiple lighting modes and features for various uses.

Basic Operation:

  • Turn ON/OFF: Click the tail switch once to turn the HS41 on/off.
  • Change Brightness (Stepped Ramping): While the flashlight is on, press and hold the tail switch to cycle through Eco, Low, Medium, High. Release the switch at your desired brightness level.
  • Turbo Mode: Double-click the tail switch to activate Turbo mode (4000 lumens).
  • Strobe Mode: Triple-click the tail switch to activate Strobe mode (4000 lumens).
  • Switch Ramping Modes: While the flashlight is on, fast four clicks to switch between Stepped ramping and Smooth ramping. The light blinks twice to signal that the switch is completed.

Advanced Features:

  • Smooth Ramping: In Smooth Ramping mode, hold and press the switch to continuously change brightness between 10-1500 lumens.
  • Low Battery Alert: When the battery is low, the indicator will flash red, and the flashlight will vibrate twice with a 1-minute interval.
  • Reverse Charging (Power Bank Function): The HS41 can act as a portable power bank to charge cell phones, rechargeable batteries, iPads, and watches via its USB-C port.
  • Magnetic Tailcap: The magnetic tailcap allows for hands-free operation by attaching the headlamp to metal surfaces.

Battery Level Indicator

After turning on the HS41, the indicator will display the power status for 5 seconds:

  • Green: Remaining battery power is good (70% - 100%).
  • Red: Remaining battery power is poor (30% - 69%).
  • Flashing Red: Critical power (less than 30%), please replace or recharge battery.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Clean the headlamp with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • O-rings: Regularly check the O-rings for wear and tear. Replace them if damaged to maintain the IP68 waterproof rating. Lubricate O-rings with silicone grease periodically.
  • Battery Care: Recharge the battery promptly when the low battery alert is triggered. If storing the headlamp for an extended period, remove the battery and store it separately in a cool, dry place.
  • Water Resistance: While rated IP68, the headlamp is not designed for diving. Ensure the USB-C port cover is securely closed before exposure to water.

Troubleshooting

  • Headlamp not turning on:
    • Ensure the battery is correctly installed with the positive (+) end facing the head.
    • Check if the battery is charged. If not, charge it using the USB-C port.
    • Ensure the tailcap is screwed on tightly.
  • Light output is dim or flickering:
    • The battery might be low. Recharge the battery.
    • Clean the battery contacts and the headlamp's internal contacts.
  • Water ingress:
    • Ensure the USB-C port cover is fully sealed.
    • Check the O-rings for damage or improper seating. Replace if necessary.

User Tips

  • Color Temperature: The HS41 is available in different color temperatures, such as 5000K and 6000-6500K. 5000K typically offers a neutral white light, often preferred for natural color rendition, while 6000-6500K provides a cooler, bluer white light, which can appear brighter to some users. Choose the color temperature that best suits your preference and intended use.
  • Battery Inclusion: The SOFIRN HS41 typically includes a 5000mAh 21700 battery. Always verify package contents upon receipt.
  • Versatile Mounting: Utilize the magnetic tailcap to attach the headlamp to metal surfaces for hands-free illumination in workshops, under car hoods, or during repairs.
  • Power Bank Function: In emergencies, the reverse charging feature can be a lifesaver for topping up small electronic devices.
