4. Setup Guide

4.1 Connecting the Battery Pack

  1. Each terminal wire is connected to a clamp at the end, with a wire sequence number marked on it.
  2. Solder and connect the equalization cable on the total positive and negative electrodes of the battery pack.
  3. Use cable clamps to clamp the corresponding batteries in sequence.
  4. Insulate any excess cable clamps that are not used.

4.2 Wire Sequence Testing

After connecting the battery pack cables, they need to be tested using the provided wire sequence test board. Each wire sequence corresponds to a light. When the light is on, it indicates that the wire sequence is correct.

4.3 Connecting to the Equalizer

After confirming the wire sequence is correct, connect the cable clamps to the D1524 equalizer. Each input port of the battery pack is clearly labeled with a numbered prompt. Connect the battery pack cable input ports and the battery total positive/negative input terminals in sequence.

4.4 Powering On

  1. Connect the power cord to the equalizer and a suitable power outlet (110-240V).
  2. Turn on the main power button located at the rear of the device.
  3. The display screen will show a welcome message. Please touch the display screen to confirm and press the START button to proceed.

5. Operation

5.1 Interface Overview

The D1524 features a 5-inch color LCD touch screen and physical buttons for control. The main interface displays battery SOC, voltage, current, and power. Navigation is done via touch or the 'Function selection' buttons.

5.2 Enabling Equalization

Enabling equalization involves three simple steps:

  1. Select the type of battery pack: Navigate to the 'Parameters Set' screen and choose between Li-ion, LiFePO4, or LTO.
  2. Set the number of connected battery pack strings: Input the correct number of series cells (e.g., 15 for a 15-string pack).
  3. Set equalized start control voltage: This voltage threshold determines when equalization begins. If a single string battery's voltage is lower than this value, it indicates that equalization is enabled for that string.

5.3 Equalization Modes

The D1524 supports both Charge Balance Mode and Discharge Balance Mode.

5.3.1 Discharge Balance Mode

In this mode, the equalizer discharges individual battery strings that exceed a set voltage, bringing them down to the desired level. This helps balance the pack by reducing the voltage of higher cells.

5.3.2 Charge Balance Mode

When charging a battery pack, this mode ensures that all battery series are charged to the set voltage. Cells above the set voltage will be discharged (no discharging), while cells below will be charged to reach the set voltage. This prevents overcharging of individual cells and ensures a balanced charge across the pack.

5.4 Monitoring and Control

The device offers comprehensive monitoring capabilities:

  • Main Parameters Page: Displays charging current, power, and overall battery status.
  • Status Display Page: Shows total voltage, charging current, charging power, real-time voltage changes for up to 24 series batteries, and temperature changes.
  • Work Indicator Lights: Each light hole represents a string of batteries. The brighter the light, the greater the voltage difference of that string, indicating active equalization.

You can pause discharge equalization using the 'STOP' button and pause charging using the 'CHG OFF' button. Pressing 'START' simultaneously with 'CHG ON' can initiate discharge equalization while charging, achieving integrated operations.

5.5 Mobile Bluetooth APP Control

The D1524 supports mobile Bluetooth APP control for flexible handling. Select Bluetooth and connect to the machine, then open the applet to control and monitor the machine from your phone.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Heat Dissipation

The D1524 is equipped with double fans for strong heat dissipation, featuring twin turbines and a 5800rpm speed with a metal protective net. Ensure the fan vents are clear of obstructions to maintain optimal cooling and prevent overheating.

6.2 General Care

  • Keep the device clean and free from dust and debris.
  • Store the equalizer in a dry, cool environment away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Regularly check all cable connections for wear and tear.

7. Troubleshooting

7.1 Common Issues

  • Device not powering on: Check the power cord connection and ensure the main power switch is in the 'ON' position. Verify the power outlet is functional.
  • Incorrect wire sequence: Use the wire sequence test board to confirm all connections are correct before connecting to the equalizer. An incorrect sequence can prevent operation or cause damage.
  • Equalization not starting: Ensure the battery type, number of strings, and equalized start control voltage are correctly set in the 'Parameters Set' menu.
  • Language display issue: The D1524 series equalizer supports both Chinese and English interface switching. To switch to English, press the equalization pressure difference setting button, enter the code 28972123, and select English from the menu.

7.2 User Tips

  • For optimal performance, always ensure all battery cells are at a similar temperature before starting equalization.
  • Regularly check the connections during long equalization processes to ensure stability.
  • When using the mobile app, ensure your device's Bluetooth is enabled and properly paired with the equalizer.
