This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation of your Anern 10.2KW Hybrid Inverter. Please read it thoroughly before installation and use.

Important Safety Notice:

  • The starting power of inductive load electrical appliances should be at least three times the rated power of the appliances. Exceeding the inverter's power capacity can cause damage. Select a suitable model before purchase.
  • Connect the circuit correctly according to these instructions and install switches for each circuit.
  • Always find a qualified electrician to install the inverter. Installing it yourself can cause danger or damage to the equipment.

2. Product Overview

The Anern 10.2KW Hybrid Inverter is a pure sine wave solar inverter designed for both off-grid and on-grid applications. It features a built-in 160A MPPT solar controller and supports various battery types.

4. Installation & Setup

Installation Sequence:

  1. Turn on the battery switch.
  2. Start the inverter.
  3. Turn on the PV, mains, and load switches.

Shutdown Sequence:

  1. Turn off the switches of load, PV, and mains.
  2. Turn off the inverter.
  3. Finally, turn off the battery.

Battery Compatibility:

The inverter supports Lead-Acid batteries (GEL, AGM, FLD, SLD) and Lithium batteries. It can also be used without batteries, provided the solar panel voltage exceeds 360 VDC.

  • The inverter can be used without batteries.
  • It can only be connected to PACE BMS, not to BMS from other manufacturers.
  • The inverter cannot communicate with other battery brands.
  • If you are using a lithium battery, please connect it by clicking on the 'User-defined' battery type in program 05.

5. Operating Modes

Charging Modes:

The inverter offers three distinct charging modes to meet various application requirements:

  • Solar First: Prioritizes solar energy for charging and powering loads.
  • Solar and Utility at the same time: Utilizes both solar and grid power concurrently.
  • Only Solar: Exclusively uses solar power.

Dual AC Output Distribution:

The primary and secondary AC outputs can be used simultaneously under normal conditions.

  • The combined load of the primary output + secondary output must not exceed 10.2KW.
  • If power is supplied only in battery mode, the primary output is not affected.
  • When powered by battery mode only, the secondary output cannot exceed 3400W (total primary + secondary still cannot exceed 10.2KW).
  • If there is no utility power, no PV input, and the battery voltage drops below 44V, the main circuit will be directly closed. The secondary circuit will remain open until the battery reaches its discharge protection voltage. In this scenario, the secondary output will be retained at 3400W.

RGB Working Mode Indicators:

The inverter features RGB lights that automatically switch colors based on the working mode (off-grid, hybrid, or on-grid).

6. Monitoring

Wi-Fi Monitoring:

The inverter supports Wi-Fi and GPRS monitoring, allowing you to control and monitor the system via a mobile application available for both iOS and Android devices.

7. Maintenance

Removable Dust Net:

The inverter is equipped with a removable dust shield. This feature effectively prevents short circuits inside the machine caused by dust and makes cleaning easier, ensuring optimal performance and longevity.

Intelligent Cooling Fans:

The inverter includes three intelligent cooling fans for better heat dissipation, preventing overheating and maintaining stable operation.

8. Troubleshooting

Common Questions & Answers:

  • Q: What is the maximum PV power input this inverter can take?
    A: For the SCI-MAX-10.2KW model, the maximum PV array power is 5400W per channel for PV1 and PV2, totaling 10800W. For the SCI-MAX-8.2KW model, it is 8200W.
  • Q: Does it support lithium batteries?
    A: Yes, it supports lithium batteries. When using lithium batteries, select the 'User-defined' battery type in program 05. Note that it is designed to connect with PACE BMS and may not communicate with other battery brands.
  • Q: What is the maximum charging current when connected to national grid power?
    A: The maximum AC charging current is 140Amp. The maximum charging current (AC charger plus solar charger) is 160Amp.
  • Q: Why are there two MPPT controllers?
    A: The dual MPPT controllers (PV1 and PV2) allow for two independent solar panel inputs, each with its own maximum power point tracking. This provides greater flexibility in system design and improved stability, as damage to one MPPT does not affect the other.
  • Q: Is this model on-grid? Does it have a function to feed into the grid?
    A: Yes, it is a hybrid inverter that can be both off-grid and on-grid connected. Whether it can sell electricity back to the grid depends on local government policy. Please note that Anern solar inverters do not have VDE certification, which may affect on-grid connection in some countries.
  • Q: What is the input voltage range for each string?
    A: The PV Array MPPT Voltage Range is 90-450VDC, with a maximum PV Array Open Circuit Voltage of 500Vdc.

9. User Tips

  • For optimal performance and safety, always ensure professional installation by a qualified electrician.
  • Regularly check the removable dust net and clean it to prevent dust accumulation, which can lead to short circuits and reduced efficiency.
  • Utilize the Wi-Fi monitoring feature to keep track of your system's performance and adjust settings as needed from your mobile device.
  • When operating without batteries, ensure your solar panel array consistently provides voltage above 360 VDC for stable operation.
