3. Package Contents
Please verify that all items are present in your package:
- M.2 to PCIe Adapter (x1)
- Full Profile Bracket (x1)
- Cabinet screw (x1)
- SSD screw nut (x1)
- Mini Screw Driver (x1)
- Mini fixing screw (x1)

4. Setup and Installation
Follow these steps to install your JEYI M.2 NVME to PCIe Adapter:
- Attach the Bracket: Insert the bottom slot of the full profile bracket into the adapter card.
- Secure the Bracket: Turn the other slot to the bracket and press until a 'click' sound is heard, ensuring it is securely attached.
- Insert the SSD: Carefully insert your M.2 NVMe SSD into the M.2 slot on the adapter card and press it down gently.
- Secure the SSD: Use the provided SSD screw nut and mini fixing screw to secure the SSD to the adapter card. The mini screw driver can be used for this step. For 2280 length SSDs, you may not need the nut, just tighten the screw. For 2230, 2242, 2260 lengths, fix the nut to the SSD and tighten from the back of the card.
- Install into PC: With the SSD secured, install the assembled adapter card into an available PCIe x4, x8, or x16 slot on your desktop PC's motherboard. Secure the bracket to your PC case with a cabinet screw.

Important Installation Note:
This product is designed exclusively for PCIe x4, x8, or x16 slots. DO NOT connect it to a PCIe x1 slot or a legacy PCI interface. Incorrect connection can cause severe damage to your express card, SSD, and motherboard.

5. Operating Instructions
Once installed, the JEYI M.2 NVME to PCIe Adapter operates as a direct extension of your motherboard's PCIe bus, allowing your NVMe SSD to function as a high-speed storage device.
Driver Installation and Recognition:
- Windows 10/8, Windows Server 2012 R2, Linux, Fedora, SUSE, Ubuntu, Red Hat: No additional drivers are typically required. The system should recognize the NVMe SSD automatically (Plug & Play).
- Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2: An additional NVMe driver may be required. Please refer to your SSD manufacturer's website or Microsoft's support for the necessary drivers.
- BIOS Support: For the system to recognize the NVMe SSD, your motherboard's BIOS must support NVMe. Most modern motherboards have native NVMe support.
BIOS Configuration (for older motherboards):
If your motherboard is older and does not natively support NVMe, you may need to update your BIOS. Consult your motherboard manufacturer's website for the latest BIOS version that includes NVMe support and instructions on how to update it, often via a USB drive.

After successful installation and recognition, you can use the NVMe SSD for various purposes, including installing your operating system, creating RAID configurations, or as a high-speed storage drive for applications and data.
6. Maintenance
The JEYI M.2 NVME to PCIe Adapter is designed for durability and stable performance. Minimal maintenance is required.
- Cooling: The adapter features a vented design on its immersion gold PCB and double-sided copper holes to enhance heat dissipation for the SSD. Ensure adequate airflow within your PC case to maintain optimal operating temperatures.
- Cleaning: Periodically inspect the adapter and SSD for dust accumulation. Use compressed air to gently clean any dust from the components and PCIe slot.
- Physical Handling: Avoid physical shock or bending of the adapter card and SSD. Handle components by their edges to prevent damage to sensitive electronic parts.
7. Troubleshooting
- SSD Not Detected:
- Ensure the adapter is correctly seated in a compatible PCIe x4, x8, or x16 slot.
- Verify the M.2 NVMe SSD is properly inserted and secured on the adapter.
- Check your motherboard's BIOS/UEFI settings to ensure NVMe support is enabled. You may need to update your BIOS to the latest version if your motherboard is older.
- For Windows 7/Server 2008 R2, ensure the necessary NVMe drivers are installed.
- Slow Performance:
- Confirm the adapter is installed in a PCIe slot that matches or exceeds the SSD's generation (e.g., PCIe 4.0 SSD in a PCIe 4.0 slot for maximum speed). While backward compatible, speeds will be limited by the lowest PCIe generation in use.
- Ensure your operating system and drivers are up to date.
- Check for any background processes or software that might be impacting disk performance.
- System Instability/Crashes:
- Double-check all connections.
- Ensure the adapter is not installed in an incompatible PCI or PCIe x1 slot, as this can cause system damage.
- Monitor SSD temperatures to ensure it's not overheating.
User Tips:
- This adapter is backward compatible with PCIe 3.0 and 2.0 slots. However, the SSD's speed will be limited to the maximum bandwidth of the installed PCIe slot (e.g., a PCIe 4.0 SSD in a PCIe 3.0 slot will operate at PCIe 3.0 speeds).
- For older motherboards, a BIOS update is often crucial to enable NVMe SSD recognition and boot functionality. Refer to your motherboard manufacturer's support page for specific instructions.
- Always ensure the adapter is installed in a PCIe x4, x8, or x16 slot. Installing it in a PCIe x1 or legacy PCI slot can lead to hardware damage.
