5. Setup and Connections
Before operating the XH300, ensure you have a stable DC 12-24V power supply. Connect the power cord to the 'Power in DC12-24V' port on the device.
5.1 Device Overview

5.2 Connecting for ECU Testing
To test an ECU, connect the XH300's signal outputs to the appropriate input pins of the ECU. The XH300 can simulate signals for engine fuel injectors and ignition coils. Note that crankshaft and camshaft synchronization signals are not supported for this specific test setup.

5.3 Crankshaft Position Sensor Connections
The crankshaft position sensor can be either Hall type or magnetoelectric type. Connect the XH300 according to the sensor type:
- Hall Connection: Connect the Hall signal output (SIG, GND) from the XH300 to the sensor and ECU.
- Magnetoelectric Connection: Connect the magnetoelectric output (SIG1, SIG2) from the XH300 to the sensor and ECU.

5.4 Magnetoelectric ABS Sensor Simulation
For magnetoelectric ABS sensor simulation, connect the XH300 to the ECU. The XH300 can simulate magnetoelectric and three-wire Hall ABS sensor signals, but not two-wire Hall types.

5.5 Engine Speed Signal Simulation
To simulate an engine speed signal, connect the XH300 to the ECU and the vehicle's dashboard (if applicable) as shown in the diagram.

6. Operating Instructions
The XH300 features a digital display and several control buttons for easy operation.

6.1 Signal Selection and Frequency Adjustment
- Select Signal Type: Short press the SET key to cycle through the pre-stored signal types (e.g., CKP 58+2, 34+2, 36+2, 60+0, 56+4, 10+1; CMP 4+1, 6+1). The selected signal type will be displayed.
- Adjust Signal Frequency: Once a signal type is selected, use the Up and Down keys to adjust the signal frequency (Hz). The frequency range is 1-8000Hz. The signal frequency is displayed by default.
6.2 Crankshaft Signal Editing
The XH300 allows users to edit custom crankshaft missing tooth signals. The instrument has six commonly used crankshaft signals stored, but you can edit others if needed.
- Enter Editing Mode: Long press the SET key. The two digits on the left of the display will blink.
- Modify Number of Teeth: Use the Up or Down key to adjust the number of teeth. The range is 1-99.
- Modify Missing Teeth: Short press the SET key again. The digit for missing teeth will flash. Use the Up or Down key to adjust the number of missing teeth. The range is 1-9.
- Exit Editing Mode: Short press the SET key once more to exit the editing mode. The signal editing is complete.
The newly edited signal is automatically saved after 56+4 and overwrites the original 10+1 signal.

6.3 Signal Phase Reversal
Press the H/L (phase reversal) key to reverse the signal phase by 180 degrees each time it is pressed.
- H (High) displayed: Outputs a high waveform.
- L (Low) displayed: Outputs a low waveform.

6.4 Signal Amplitude Selection
Use the 12V/5V switch to select the desired signal amplitude for the output.
7. Applications
7.1 Vehicle Speed Sensor (Odometer) Signal Simulation
The XH300 can simulate vehicle speed signals. There are two primary methods for collecting vehicle speed signals:
- A separate speed sensor installed on the transmission output shaft (common in trucks and motorcycles).
- Speed signal collected by an ABS sensor (common in small cars).
Simulation Method:
- Determine the acquisition method (separate speed sensor or shared sensor with ABS).
- Distinguish between magnetoelectric, three-wire Hall, and two-wire Hall sensors. The XH300 can simulate magnetoelectric and three-wire Hall, but not two-wire Hall.
- Short press the SET key and select signal type 60+0 (no lack of tooth signal).
- Press the Up or Down key to adjust the signal frequency, which adjusts the simulated speed.
