5. Setup
- Inspect Components: Ensure all parts are clean and free from damage.
- Assemble Nozzle Set: Carefully attach the fluid nozzle, needle, and air cap to the spray gun body. Ensure they are securely tightened but do not overtighten.
- Attach Gravity Feed Cup: Screw the 600ml cup onto the top of the spray gun body.
- Connect Air Supply: Attach your air hose to the air inlet at the bottom of the spray gun handle. Ensure a secure, leak-free connection. An inline air pressure regulator with a gauge is highly recommended for precise pressure control.
- Adjust Air Pressure: With the air supply connected and the trigger pulled, adjust your air compressor's regulator or an inline regulator to the optimal working pressure of 1.5 bar (21 psi). Do not exceed the maximum pressure of 2.5 bar (36 psi).
- Prepare Paint: Mix your paint according to the manufacturer's instructions. Strain the paint to remove any impurities that could clog the nozzle.
- Fill Paint Cup: Pour the prepared paint into the gravity feed cup. Do not overfill.

6. Operating Instructions
- Initial Adjustments:
- Fluid Control Knob: Located at the back of the gun, this controls the amount of paint released. Turn clockwise for less paint, counter-clockwise for more.
- Fan Pattern Control Knob: Located on the side, this adjusts the spray pattern from round to a wide fan. Turn clockwise for a rounder pattern, counter-clockwise for a wider fan.
- Air Inlet Knob: Located at the bottom of the handle, this fine-tunes the air pressure at the gun.
- Test Spray: Before painting your actual workpiece, always perform a test spray on a scrap piece of material. This allows you to fine-tune the fluid, fan, and air adjustments to achieve the desired finish.
- Spraying Technique:
- Maintain a consistent spray distance of approximately 200mm (8 inches) from the surface.
- Move the gun at a steady, even pace, keeping it perpendicular to the surface. Avoid arcing your wrist.
- Overlap each pass by about 50% to ensure even coverage.
- Release the trigger at the end of each pass to avoid paint buildup.
- Achieving Different Patterns: The air cap can be rotated to achieve horizontal or vertical fan patterns, or a round pattern, as shown in Figure 3.

7. Maintenance
Proper cleaning and maintenance are crucial for the longevity and performance of your spray gun. The Teflon surface of the gun body offers excellent solvent resistance and is easy to clean.
- After Each Use:
- Empty any remaining paint from the cup.
- Pour a small amount of appropriate cleaning solvent into the cup.
- Spray the solvent through the gun until it runs clear.
- Disconnect the air supply.
- Remove the air cap, fluid nozzle, and needle. Clean these parts thoroughly with a cleaning brush and solvent. Pay special attention to the small holes in the air cap.
- Clean the inside of the paint cup and the fluid passage in the gun body.
- Wipe down the exterior of the gun with a solvent-dampened cloth.
- Deep Cleaning (Periodically): For stubborn clogs or buildup, a more thorough disassembly and cleaning may be required. Refer to Figure 5 for disassembled parts.
- Disassemble the gun completely, including removing the fluid control knob and fan pattern control knob to access internal components.
- Soak all metal parts in an appropriate cleaning solvent.
- Use cleaning brushes and picks to remove all paint residue from passages and orifices.
- Inspect all O-rings and seals for wear or damage. Replace if necessary.
- Lubricate moving parts (e.g., needle packing) with a small amount of spray gun lubricant before reassembly.
- Storage: Store the clean and dry spray gun in a protective case or hang it in a dry, dust-free environment.

8. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Uneven spray pattern | Clogged air cap holes, damaged air cap, incorrect air pressure | Clean air cap, replace if damaged, adjust air pressure to optimal 1.5 bar (21 psi) |
| Sputtering or intermittent spray | Low paint level, clogged fluid nozzle, loose fluid nozzle, air leak in cup/lid, insufficient air pressure | Refill cup, clean fluid nozzle, tighten fluid nozzle, check cup seal, increase air pressure |
| Paint drips or runs | Too much paint flow, gun too close to surface, paint too thin, moving too slowly | Reduce fluid flow, increase spray distance, thicken paint, increase gun speed |
| Excessive overspray | Too high air pressure, gun too far from surface, paint too thin | Reduce air pressure, decrease spray distance, thicken paint |
| No paint flow | Clogged fluid nozzle, needle stuck, empty cup, fluid control knob closed | Clean fluid nozzle, free needle, refill cup, open fluid control knob |
9. User Tips
- Proper Paint Viscosity: Always ensure your paint is thinned to the correct viscosity for spraying. Too thick, and it will clog; too thin, and it will run.
- Consistent Air Pressure: Use a reliable air regulator to maintain a consistent air pressure. Fluctuations can lead to an uneven finish.
- Cleanliness is Key: A clean spray gun is a happy spray gun. Thorough cleaning after every use prevents clogs and ensures consistent performance.
- Practice Makes Perfect: If you're new to spray painting, practice on scrap materials to get a feel for the gun's adjustments and your spraying technique before tackling your main project.
- Filter Your Paint: Always strain your paint before pouring it into the cup to prevent small particles from clogging the nozzle.
