3. Setup Guide
Follow these steps to properly install the components of your Kllisre X99 Motherboard Combo Kit.
3.1. Motherboard Overview

3.2. CPU Installation
- Carefully open the CPU retention mechanism on the LGA 2011-3 socket.
- Align the Intel Xeon E5 2680 V4 CPU with the socket, ensuring the gold triangle on the CPU matches the indicator on the socket.
- Gently place the CPU into the socket without forcing it.
- Close the retention mechanism to secure the CPU.
- Apply thermal paste to the CPU and install a compatible CPU cooler (not included in the kit).
3.3. RAM Installation
Important Note: The green RAM slots must be populated first. The black RAM slots cannot function alone.

- Open the clips on the DDR4 memory slots.
- Align the memory module with the slot, ensuring the notch on the module matches the key in the slot.
- Press down firmly on both ends of the memory module until the clips snap into place.
- Installation Order:
- When installing 1 RAM module: Install in slot 3 or slot 4 (green slots).
- When installing 2 RAM modules: Install in slot 3 and slot 4 (green slots).
- When installing 3 RAM modules: Install in slot 3, slot 4, and slot 1 or slot 2.
- When installing 4 RAM modules: Install in all available slots.
3.4. Power Connections
- Connect the 24-pin ATX power connector from your power supply to the 24Pin DC header on the motherboard.
- Connect the 8-pin CPU power connector (EPS12V) from your power supply to the 8Pin DC header near the CPU socket.
- Connect your CPU fan to the 4Pin CPU fan header.
- Connect any additional case fans to the 4Pin Fan headers.
3.5. Storage Devices
- SATA Drives: Connect SATA data cables from your hard drives or SSDs to the four SATA 2.0 ports on the motherboard. Connect SATA power cables from your power supply to the drives.
- NVMe M.2 SSD: Insert your NVMe M.2 SSD into the dedicated M.2 slot and secure it with the provided screw.
3.6. Front Panel Connectors
Connect your case's front panel cables (Power Switch, Reset Switch, HDD LED, Power LED, USB, Audio) to the corresponding headers on the motherboard as indicated in Figure 4.
3.7. Rear I/O Panel Connections

- USB Devices: Connect your USB peripherals to the available USB 2.0 ports.
- PS/2 Devices: Connect legacy PS/2 keyboards or mice to the PS/2 ports.
- Network: Connect an Ethernet cable to the Gigabit Ethernet (RJ45) port for network access.
- Audio: Connect your speakers, headphones, or microphone to the 5.1 channel audio jacks.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1. First Power On
- After completing all hardware installations, ensure all connections are secure.
- Connect your monitor, keyboard, and mouse.
- Plug in the power supply and turn on the power switch on the PSU.
- Press the power button on your computer case.
- The system should power on and display the BIOS/UEFI screen or begin the operating system installation process.
4.2. Operating System Installation
Insert your operating system installation media (USB drive or DVD) and follow the on-screen prompts to install your preferred operating system. Ensure to install all necessary drivers for the motherboard components (chipset, LAN, audio, etc.) after OS installation.
5. Maintenance
5.1. Cleaning
- Regularly clean the interior of your computer case to prevent dust buildup, which can lead to overheating and component failure.
- Use compressed air to remove dust from fans, heatsinks, and motherboard components.
- Ensure the system is powered off and unplugged before cleaning.
5.2. BIOS Updates
Periodically check the Kllisre official website for BIOS/UEFI updates. Updating the BIOS can improve system stability, compatibility, and performance. Follow the instructions provided with the BIOS update carefully to avoid damaging the motherboard.
5.3. Battery Note
Please note that the CMOS battery (CR2032) may be removed from the motherboard before shipping due to international shipping regulations. You may need to install a new CR2032 battery upon receipt for proper timekeeping and BIOS settings retention.
6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Kllisre X99 Motherboard Combo Kit, refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:
- No Display/Video Output:
- Ensure your monitor is connected to the graphics card (if installed) or the integrated graphics port (if available and enabled).
- Verify that all power cables (24-pin ATX, 8-pin CPU, GPU power) are securely connected.
- Reseat the RAM modules, ensuring they are correctly installed in the designated green slots first.
- Try booting with only one RAM module installed.
- Check if the CPU is properly seated and the CPU cooler is installed correctly.
- If you have a dedicated graphics card, try removing it and using integrated graphics (if applicable) or testing with a different known-good graphics card.
- System Fails to Power On:
- Check the power supply unit (PSU) switch is in the 'ON' position.
- Ensure the 24-pin ATX and 8-pin CPU power connectors are firmly seated.
- Verify that the front panel power switch cable is correctly connected to the motherboard header.
- Test the power supply with another system or a PSU tester if possible.
- Operating System Issues:
- Ensure all necessary drivers for the motherboard chipset, LAN, and audio are installed.
- Check for any conflicting software or recent hardware changes.
- Run diagnostic tools for memory and storage drives.
7. User Tips
- RAM Installation Priority: Always prioritize installing RAM modules into the green slots (slots 3 and 4) first, especially when using fewer than four modules. The black slots cannot function independently.
- Component Condition: The CPU and memory included in this kit are used components but have been tested and come with a 1-year warranty, ensuring their functionality.
- Windows 11 Compatibility: While the kit provides robust hardware, ensure all components meet the specific requirements for Windows 11 (e.g., TPM 2.0, Secure Boot) if you plan to install it. Check Microsoft's official documentation for the latest requirements.
8. Warranty and Support
The Intel Xeon E5 2680 V4 CPU and DDR4 16GB 2133MHz ECC Memory included in this kit come with a 1-year warranty. The Kllisre X99 motherboard is provided in new condition and is expected to meet standard warranty terms.
