1. Product Overview

The MOES Tuya Bluetooth Gateway Hub is a smart home bridge designed to connect your Bluetooth-enabled devices to the Tuya Smart APP, enabling seamless integration with your smart home ecosystem. It supports both WiFi and Bluetooth (single point & Mesh) communication methods, allowing for remote control via WiFi and local control via Bluetooth. This gateway ensures stable and reliable signal transmission with wide coverage and strong anti-interference capabilities, all while maintaining low heat generation and power consumption. It also incorporates high-level encryption for secure network communication.

2. Package Contents

Upon opening your package, please ensure all items are present and in good condition:

  • MOES Tuya Bluetooth Gateway Hub
  • Micro USB Cable (for power)
  • User Manual (this document, or refer to the PDF version: User manual (PDF))

Note: An inbox power adapter is not included. Please use a standard 5V 2A USB power adapter.

3. Setup Guide

3.1 Physical Installation

  1. Place the Bluetooth Gateway Hub in a central location within your home to ensure optimal coverage for all your Bluetooth smart devices.
  2. Connect the provided Micro USB cable to the gateway's Micro USB port.
  3. Plug the other end of the Micro USB cable into a 5V 2A USB power adapter (not included) and then into a power outlet.
  4. The status LED indicators (WIFI+Bluetooth) on the device will light up, indicating it is powered on.

3.2 App Installation and Gateway Pairing

  1. Download the "Tuya Smart" or "Smart Life" app from your smartphone's app store (iOS App Store or Google Play Store).
  2. Register or log in to your account in the app.
  3. In the app, tap the "+" icon (usually in the top right corner) to add a new device.
  4. Select "Gateway" or "Hub" from the device categories, then choose "Bluetooth Gateway (Wi-Fi)".
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions in the app to connect the gateway to your home's 2.4GHz WiFi network. You may need to reset the gateway by pressing its button for a few seconds until the LED blinks, indicating pairing mode.
  6. Once successfully added, the gateway will appear in your device list in the app.

3.3 Pairing Bluetooth Sub-devices

After the gateway is connected to the app, you can add Bluetooth sub-devices:

  1. Ensure your Bluetooth sub-device is in pairing mode (refer to the sub-device's manual for specific instructions).
  2. In the Tuya Smart/Smart Life app, navigate to the Bluetooth Gateway Hub's control interface.
  3. Tap "Add device by list" or "Search new device" (as shown in Figure 4).
  4. The app will scan for nearby Bluetooth devices. Select your device from the list to pair it with the gateway.
  5. Once paired, you can control the sub-device through the app. The gateway supports a maximum of 128 sub-devices.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 App Control

Once your Bluetooth devices are paired with the gateway and linked to the Tuya Smart/Smart Life app, you can control them from anywhere:

  • Remote Control: Control devices even when you are away from home, as long as the gateway has an internet connection.
  • Group Control: Group multiple Bluetooth devices together for simultaneous control.
  • Scene Automation: Create smart scenes and automations within the app to trigger actions based on schedules, sensor readings, or other device states.

4.2 Voice Control

The gateway integrates with popular voice assistants for hands-free control:

  1. Link your Tuya Smart/Smart Life account to Amazon Alexa or Google Home in their respective apps.
  2. Discover devices. Your paired Bluetooth devices will appear in Alexa or Google Home.
  3. Use voice commands such as "Alexa, turn on the Bluetooth Switch" or "Hey Google, set the thermostat to 22 degrees."

4.3 Smart Automation Scenarios

Leverage the gateway to create intelligent automation scenarios for your home:

  • Door/Light Automation: Combine the Bluetooth Hub with a Window & Door Sensor and a Smart Bulb. When the door opens, the light can automatically turn on.
  • Night Movement Detection: Integrate the Bluetooth Hub with a PIR (Passive Infrared) sensor and a Smart Switch. When movement is detected at night, a light can be switched on.

6. Maintenance

  • Keep the device in a dry environment, away from excessive heat or direct sunlight.
  • Clean the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosols.
  • Ensure proper ventilation around the device to prevent overheating.
  • Regularly check for firmware updates through the Tuya Smart/Smart Life app to ensure optimal performance and security.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Device not connecting to WiFi:
    • Ensure your WiFi network is 2.4GHz. The gateway does not support 5GHz WiFi.
    • Check if the WiFi password entered in the app is correct.
    • Make sure the gateway is within range of your WiFi router.
    • Try resetting the gateway by pressing the reset button for a few seconds and re-attempting the pairing process.
  • Bluetooth sub-devices not pairing:
    • Ensure the sub-device is in pairing mode.
    • Make sure the sub-device is within Bluetooth range of the gateway.
    • Check if the sub-device is compatible with the Tuya ecosystem.
    • Restart the Tuya Smart/Smart Life app and try again.
  • Voice control not working:
    • Verify that your Tuya Smart/Smart Life account is correctly linked to Alexa or Google Home.
    • Ensure the devices are discovered and enabled in the Alexa/Google Home app.
    • Check your internet connection.
  • Gateway unresponsive:
    • Unplug the Micro USB power cable, wait 10 seconds, and plug it back in to restart the device.
    • If the issue persists, perform a factory reset (press and hold the reset button for an extended period, typically 5-10 seconds, until the LED behavior changes significantly, then re-pair).

  • Central Placement: For optimal performance and range, place the gateway in a central location in your home, avoiding obstructions.
  • Tuya Ecosystem: This gateway is designed for the Tuya ecosystem. Ensure your smart devices are Tuya-compatible Bluetooth devices for seamless integration. It does not extend the range of personal Bluetooth headsets or support direct audio streaming to multiple Bluetooth speakers.
  • Automation Power: Explore the automation features within the Tuya Smart/Smart Life app. Combining the gateway with various sensors (e.g., PIR, door/window sensors) can create powerful and convenient smart home routines.
  • Voice Assistant Integration: Take advantage of Alexa and Google Home integration for hands-free control of your connected devices.
