3. Setup and Installation

Follow these steps to properly install the centrifugal nozzle on your agricultural spray drone:

  1. Mounting: Securely attach the nozzle to the designated mounting points on your drone's spray system. Ensure it is stable and correctly oriented for optimal spray pattern.
  2. Liquid Connection: Connect the liquid supply hose from your drone's tank to the nozzle's 8mm water inlet. Ensure a tight, leak-free connection.
  3. Electrical Wiring: Connect the nozzle's power and signal cables to your drone's flight controller or power distribution board according to the wiring diagram provided.

4. Operating Instructions

Proper operation is crucial for the longevity and effectiveness of the centrifugal nozzle. Please adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Simultaneous Operation: The nozzle must never idle. The water pump supplying liquid to the nozzle must be turned on simultaneously with the nozzle to ensure continuous liquid flow, which is essential for cooling the nozzle motor.
  • Speed Settings (PWM Analog Quantity): Adjust the nozzle speed based on your drone's power supply voltage:
    • For 12S power supply: Set nozzle speed to 95% (analog quantity 1000-1950).
    • For 14S power supply: Set nozzle speed to 85% (analog quantity 1000-1850).
    • For 18S power supply: Set nozzle speed to 75% (analog quantity 1000-1750).
  • Nozzle Shutdown: Ensure the nozzle is turned off immediately after the liquid medicine is depleted. If your flight control system does not have a dedicated centrifugal nozzle mode, manual nozzle closure is required.

5. Maintenance

Regular cleaning is vital to prevent corrosion, solidification of residues, and damage to the motor bearings. Perform the following cleaning procedure after each use:

  1. Initial Rinse: After completing spraying, fill the drone's liquid tank with clean water.
  2. Add Cleaning Solution: Add an appropriate cleaning solution (compatible with your spray chemicals and nozzle materials) to the clean water in the tank.
  3. Spray Cycle: Turn on the centrifugal nozzle and spray the cleaning solution mixture until the tank is empty.
  4. Idle Rinse: After spraying the cleaning solution, allow the nozzle to idle for an additional 30 seconds with clean water flowing through it. This helps flush out any remaining residues and cleaning solution.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your centrifugal nozzle, consider the following common troubleshooting steps:

  • No Spray/Weak Spray: Check the liquid supply. Ensure the pump is operating, there are no blockages in the hose or nozzle inlet, and the liquid tank is not empty. Verify the nozzle motor is spinning.
  • Nozzle Not Spinning: Check all electrical connections (power and signal) according to the wiring diagram. Ensure the drone's power supply is adequate and the flight controller is sending the correct PWM signal.
  • Irregular Spray Pattern: This could indicate a partial blockage in the nozzle or an issue with the motor speed. Perform the cleaning procedure outlined in Section 5.
  • Overheating: Ensure the nozzle is always operated with liquid flowing through it for cooling. Never run the nozzle dry for extended periods.

For persistent issues, consult your drone's flight controller manual for specific settings related to centrifugal nozzles or contact customer support.

7. User Tips

  • Pre-Flight Check: Always perform a visual inspection of the nozzle and connections before each flight to ensure everything is secure and free from damage or blockages.
  • Calibration: Calibrate your drone's spray system and nozzle settings regularly to maintain consistent and accurate application rates.
  • Chemical Compatibility: Ensure that the agricultural chemicals used are compatible with the nozzle's aluminum alloy and composite materials to prevent degradation or damage.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the nozzles in a clean, dry place, protected from extreme temperatures and direct sunlight.
