5.2 Cleaning
To maintain your keyboard's performance and appearance:
- Disconnect the keyboard from all devices before cleaning.
- Use a soft brush or compressed air to remove dust and debris from between the keycaps.
- For stubborn dirt, gently remove keycaps (refer to 5.1) and clean with a damp cloth or mild cleaning solution. Ensure keycaps are completely dry before reattaching.
- Wipe the keyboard surface with a soft, lint-free cloth.
- Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
6. Troubleshooting
- Keyboard not connecting via 2.4G or Bluetooth:
- Ensure the keyboard is powered on and fully charged.
- Verify the correct mode is selected (FN+R for 2.4G, FN+Q/W/E for Bluetooth).
- Re-enter pairing mode (hold FN+R or FN+Q/W/E for 3-5 seconds).
- For 2.4G, try plugging the USB receiver into a different port.
- For Bluetooth, remove the keyboard from your device's Bluetooth list and attempt to pair again.
- Ensure no other wireless devices are causing interference.
- Keys not responding or double-typing:
- Check if the keyboard is in wired mode (FN+T) and the cable is securely connected.
- If using wireless, ensure the battery is not low.
- Consider if a switch might be faulty. Thanks to the hot-swappable design, you can easily replace individual switches (refer to 5.1).
- Clean under the keycaps to remove any debris.
- Indicator lights not working as expected:
- The GD68 does not have full RGB backlighting; it features specific indicator lights for status.
- If a light is not illuminating, ensure the keyboard is powered on and functioning.
- A flashing light usually indicates pairing mode or low battery.
- Keyboard not charging:
- Ensure the USB Type-C cable is securely connected to both the keyboard and a power source/computer.
- Try a different USB port or charging cable.
- Verify the power source is active.
7. User Tips
- Multi-Device Efficiency: Take full advantage of the keyboard's ability to connect to up to 5 devices. Assign different Bluetooth channels (BT1, BT2, BT3) to your tablet, phone, and a secondary computer for quick switching.
- Customization with Hot-Swapping: Experiment with different types of 3-pin mechanical switches to find your preferred typing feel. The hot-swappable design makes this process simple and risk-free.
- Understanding Indicator Lights: Pay attention to the indicator lights near the spacebar. They provide crucial feedback on battery status, connection mode, and pairing status, helping you quickly diagnose issues.
