5. Maintenance
To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your backup camera, please clean the lens regularly to prevent dust, water drops, snow drops, etc. from entering.
6. Troubleshooting
6.1. Abnormal or Distorted Images
If your camera displays images but they are abnormal or distorted, it is likely due to an incorrect camera format setting. Please adjust the camera format. Generally, the NTSC format is the correct format. If the picture is still incorrect after adjusting to NTSC, please try other formats.
Watch this video for guidance on adjusting the camera format:
Video: How to adjust camera format (NTSC/PAL) to fix distorted images.
6.2. No Signal
If you have connected the camera as required but find that there is no signal, it is because the camera signal cable is not properly connected. The camera signal cable is typically included in the original car wiring.
Please connect the signal cable according to this video:
Video: Guide to connecting the camera signal cable to resolve 'no signal' issues.
6.3. Blurry, Flickering, or Striped Images
After installing the backup camera, if the image on the screen is blurry, flickering, or has horizontal or vertical stripes, please check if the monitor supports the current video signal mode of the backup camera or if the wiring is correct and secure.
6.4. Universal Monitor Compatibility
- This is a universal backup camera for monitors with an RCA connector.
- If your monitor only supports specialized backup cameras, our backup camera may not be compatible. Please contact your monitor dealer or check the monitor manual for additional limitations before purchasing.
- If you connect this backup camera to an original/non-universal monitor, you might need to order the correct hardwire kit separately for installation. You can contact us with your monitor information, and we will assist you in finding the correct hardwire kit and installation method.
- This backup camera does not work with suction cup dash cams and mirror dash cams because they have different connectors and PIN definitions.
- If you are connecting this backup camera to a GPS device, please order another adapter with RCA connectors.
