1. Introduction

The TAXNELE TXCB1 Series WiFi Smart Circuit Breaker is an intelligent device designed to provide remote control, energy monitoring, and electrical protection for your home or office. This manual provides detailed instructions for the safe installation, setup, and operation of your smart circuit breaker. Please read this manual thoroughly before installation and use.

2. Product Variants and Features

The TXCB1 series offers three main models, each with distinct functionalities:

2.1. TXCB1-TW (No Metering)

  • Remote On/Off control via smartphone app.
  • Time control functions (Timing, Countdown, Cycle Time).
  • Relay last status memory.

2.2. TXCB1-TWM (Metering)

Includes all features of TXCB1-TW, plus:

  • Voltmeter: Real-time voltage display.

  • Active Power (kWh) Metering: Tracks energy usage.

2.3. TXCB1-VAP (Metering, Over/Under Voltage & Current Protection)

Includes all features of TXCB1-TWM, plus advanced protection functions:

  • Over Voltage Protection.
  • Under Voltage Protection.
  • Over Current Protection.
  • Over Power Protection.

2.4. Common Features Across All Models

  • App Remote Control: Control the smart switch from anywhere at any time using the Smart Life or Tuya Smart app.
  • Voice Control: Compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant for hands-free operation.
  • Timer Functions: Supports Timing, Countdown, and Cycle Time modes for automated control of connected devices.
  • Relay Last Status: Remembers the last state (on/off) of the relay after a power outage.
  • Durable Construction: Features a comfortable silicon rubber button and is made of IP66 flame retardant materials for high fire resistance and insulation.
  • Easy Installation: Designed with single channel tunnel-type wiring ports for secure wiring and a positioning buckle for simple disassembly and installation.

4. Installation and Wiring

WARNING: Electrical installation should only be performed by qualified personnel. Ensure power is OFF before installation to prevent electric shock.

  1. Power Off: Before starting any electrical work, ensure the main power supply to the circuit is completely turned off at the main breaker panel.
  2. Mounting: Mount the TXCB1 smart circuit breaker onto a standard DIN rail in your electrical distribution box.
  3. Wiring Connection:
    • Crucial Wiring Note: Power must enter from the top of the device.
    • Connect the Live line (L) and Neutral Line (N) from the power source to the respective terminals at the top of the TXCB1.
    • Connect the load's Live line (L') and Neutral Line (N') to the respective terminals at the bottom of the TXCB1.
    • Important: The connection must be Live line + Neutral Line (L+N). Live line + Live line (L+L) cannot be used.
  4. Secure Connections: Ensure all wire connections are tight and secure to prevent loose connections and potential hazards.
  5. Power On: Once installation is complete and verified, restore power to the circuit. The device's signal light should illuminate, indicating it's ready for setup.

5. Setup

5.1. App Download and Installation

Download the "Smart Life" or "Tuya Smart" app from your smartphone's app store (Google Play Store for Android, Apple App Store for iOS).

5.2. Device Pairing

  1. Ensure your smartphone is connected to a 2.4GHz WiFi network. (5GHz networks are not supported).
  2. Open the Smart Life/Tuya Smart app and register or log in to your account.
  3. Tap the "+" icon in the top right corner to add a device.
  4. Follow the in-app instructions to put the circuit breaker into pairing mode. This usually involves pressing and holding the main button on the device until the signal light blinks rapidly.
  5. Select the appropriate device type (e.g., "Circuit Breaker" or "Switch") in the app and confirm the blinking indicator.
  6. Enter your WiFi network password and proceed with pairing. Once successfully paired, the device will appear in your app.

5.3. Voice Assistant Integration (Alexa/Google Assistant)

  1. Ensure your TXCB1 device is successfully paired with the Smart Life/Tuya Smart app.
  2. Open the Amazon Alexa or Google Home app.
  3. Navigate to the "Skills & Games" (Alexa) or "Works with Google" (Google Home) section.
  4. Search for "Smart Life" or "Tuya Smart" and enable the skill/service.
  5. Link your Smart Life/Tuya Smart account when prompted.
  6. Discover devices. Your TXCB1 smart circuit breaker should now be controllable via voice commands.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1. Remote On/Off Control

From the Smart Life/Tuya Smart app, tap on your TXCB1 device. You will see a large power button icon. Tap it to turn the connected circuit on or off remotely.

6.2. Timer Settings

The app provides various timing options:

  • Timing Mode: Set specific times for the device to turn on or off (e.g., turn on living room lights at 18:00).
  • Countdown Mode: Set a countdown timer after which the device will change its state (e.g., turn off bedroom lights after 20 minutes).
  • Cycle Time Mode: Schedule repetitive on/off cycles (e.g., turn on for 1 hour, then off for 30 minutes, repeating daily).

6.3. Real-time Metering (TXCB1-TWM & TXCB1-VAP)

For models with metering capabilities, the app displays real-time data:

  • Voltage (V): Current line voltage.
  • Current (A): Current flowing through the circuit.
  • Power (W): Instantaneous power consumption.
  • Total Energy (kWh): Accumulated energy consumption.

6.4. Protection Settings (TXCB1-VAP)

The TXCB1-VAP model allows you to set thresholds for various protections:

  • Over-Current: Set a maximum current threshold (Range: 1-63A). If the current exceeds this, the breaker will trip.
  • Over-Voltage: Set a maximum voltage threshold (Range: 220-265V).
  • Under-Voltage: Set a minimum voltage threshold (Range: 76-240V).
  • High Power: Set a maximum power threshold (Range: 1-26KW).

The alarm function is automatically turned on after setting the threshold, and the protection tripping switch can be turned on or off within the app.

7. Maintenance

  • Regular Checks: Periodically check the physical condition of the circuit breaker and its wiring for any signs of damage, overheating, or loose connections.
  • Cleaning: Keep the device clean and free from dust. Use a dry, soft cloth for cleaning. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents.
  • Firmware Updates: Ensure your device's firmware is up to date through the Smart Life/Tuya Smart app to benefit from the latest features and security enhancements.
  • Environmental Conditions: Ensure the device operates within the specified working temperature range (-25℃ to 70℃) and avoid exposure to excessive moisture or direct sunlight.

8. Troubleshooting

8.1. Device Not Connecting to WiFi

  • Ensure your WiFi network is 2.4GHz. 5GHz networks are not supported.
  • Check if the WiFi signal strength is adequate at the device's location.
  • Verify that the WiFi password entered in the app is correct.
  • Try resetting the device to factory settings (refer to app instructions for specific reset procedure) and re-pairing.
  • Ensure your router is not blocking new device connections.

8.2. Remote Control Not Responding

  • Check your internet connection on your smartphone and the device's WiFi connection status in the app.
  • Ensure the device is powered on and the signal light is active.
  • Restart the app and try again.
  • If the issue persists, try re-pairing the device.

8.3. Voice Control Issues

  • Ensure the Smart Life/Tuya Smart skill/service is correctly linked in your Alexa/Google Home app.
  • Check if your voice assistant device (Echo, Google Home) has an active internet connection.
  • Use the exact device name configured in the Smart Life/Tuya Smart app when giving voice commands.

8.4. Protection Tripping Frequently (TXCB1-VAP)

  • Review the set thresholds for over-current, over-voltage, under-voltage, and high power in the app.
  • Check the actual load connected to the circuit breaker. It might be exceeding the set limits or the device's maximum rated current.
  • Consult a qualified electrician if you suspect an underlying electrical issue in your wiring or connected appliances.

9. User Tips

  • Optimal WiFi Placement: For reliable performance, ensure the circuit breaker is installed within good range of your 2.4GHz WiFi router.
  • Labeling: Clearly label the circuit breaker in your electrical panel to easily identify which circuit it controls.
  • Regular Monitoring (Metering Models): Utilize the energy metering features to track consumption patterns and identify energy-hungry appliances, potentially saving on electricity bills.
  • Safety First: Always prioritize safety. If you are unsure about any electrical installation or troubleshooting step, consult a professional electrician.
