5. Installation

This section provides general guidelines for installing your XIMA XV6Pro unit. Professional installation is recommended.

5.1 Pre-Installation Check

  • Ensure your vehicle is compatible with a Double Din unit (200x100x50mm).
  • Disconnect the vehicle's battery before starting installation.
  • Verify all package contents are present and undamaged.

5.2 Physical Installation

  1. Remove the original car radio unit. Refer to your vehicle's specific service manual for instructions on how to safely remove the dashboard trim and existing radio.
  2. Connect the power cable, RCA cable, camera input/BT antenna, and USB cables to the corresponding ports on the XIMA XV6Pro unit.
  3. Attach the GPS module and position it for optimal signal reception (e.g., on the dashboard).
  4. Secure the XIMA XV6Pro unit into the dashboard opening using the provided brackets.
  5. Reconnect the vehicle's battery.

Note on USB Recorder Installation:

For 3rd generation, 5th generation and above recorders, you need to use the recorder's own APP. Please plug the USB recorder into the 6pin USB port, then go to the file management and select APP to install. At the same time, please go to the factory settings - USB settings - other, open the USB1 dvr enhanced mode, improve the compatibility of the USB recorder. Note: Do not plug into the 4pin USB port, otherwise the backlight will appear bright, splash screen, etc.

For the 2nd generation recorder, use the USB recorder APP that comes with the system, no need to install APP separately. Please plug the USB recorder into the 4-pin USB port.

Titanium horse star internet: To plug into the 4pin USB port, The APK on the phone must have an English version of Titanium Star.

6. Initial Setup

After successful installation, power on the unit and follow these initial setup steps:

6.1 Language and Input

  1. Navigate to "Settings" > "System" > "Language & input".
  2. Select your preferred language from the list. The device supports over 70 languages.

6.2 WiFi Connection

  1. Go to "Settings" > "Wireless & networks" > "Wi-Fi".
  2. Turn Wi-Fi "On".
  3. Select your desired Wi-Fi network from the list.
  4. Enter the password if prompted and click "Connect". The device will display "connected" upon successful connection.

6.3 Time and Date

The device can automatically set the date and time via network or GPS. If manual adjustment is needed:

  1. Go to "Settings" > "System" > "Date & time".
  2. Disable automatic time/date settings.
  3. Adjust the time zone, date, and time manually.

6.4 Wallpaper Selection

  1. Go to "Settings" > "Display" > "Wallpaper".
  2. Choose a wallpaper from the gallery or your internal storage.

6.5 Boot Logo

  1. Go to "Settings" > "Car Settings" > "Logo Settings".
  2. Select your desired boot logo from the available options (e.g., Android, Haval, Audi, Honda).

7. Operating Instructions

Your XIMA XV6Pro unit offers a wide range of functions. Here's how to use them:

7.1 Navigation

  1. Click the "Navigation" icon on the main interface to enter the navigation interface.
  2. If the savings card does not have map data, it will prompt you to download and enter the map management interface after confirming.
  3. To download maps: Click the top left corner icon, then click offline data, and then offline map. Select the city map data you need to download.
  4. To manage downloads: You can update all maps or select specific cities to delete data or update.
  5. Return to the previous level interface by clicking the top left corner "<".

7.2 Radio

Access the radio function from the main menu. You can manually tune, auto-search, and save your favorite stations.

7.3 Music Playback

The unit supports various audio formats. You can play music from USB drives or internal storage. Use the "Music" app to browse and play your audio files.

7.4 Video Playback

Play videos from USB drives or internal storage using the "Video" app. The unit supports various video formats.

7.5 Bluetooth Functions

Connect your smartphone via Bluetooth for hands-free calling and music streaming.

  • Bluetooth Music: Stream audio from your phone to the car stereo.
  • Phone Book: Access your phone's contacts directly from the unit.

7.6 CarPlay / Android Auto

The XV6Pro supports both wired and wireless CarPlay and Android Auto. Connect your smartphone to the 4-pin USB port and launch the "Car link" app.

7.7 ADAS DVR

The ADAS DVR camera promotes safe driving by providing lane departure warnings and distance warnings. It also records your driving. Note that the small window function for DVR requires a separate purchase of a XIMA DVR.

7.8 Voice Control

The XV6Pro supports voice control for hands-free operation. Simply say the command word (e.g., "Nex") followed by your command, such as "open Navigation" or "play video". This feature may require additional activation.

7.9 File Manager

Use the File Manager to access and organize files on your internal storage and connected USB drives.

7.10 App Store (Google Play)

Access the Google Play Store to download and install additional applications.

7.11 Sound Settings (DSP)

The XV6Pro features DTS HiFi level digital sound processing (DSP). You can adjust subwoofer, bass, midrange, and treble settings. Use the speaker position settings to optimize sound for your vehicle.

7.12 Steering Wheel Controls

The unit supports steering wheel controls. To program them:

  1. Press any key on the steering wheel. The interface will display "long-press a direction key".
  2. Without pressing the steering wheel button for a certain period, it will lead to learn failure.
  3. Click on the screen to learn the docking function.
  4. Follow the steps 1/3 in succession until all control buttons on the steering wheel finish.

Note: Click the "reset" icon to clear all learned keys. If you perform a "System Reset" operation in "Factory Mode Settings", please re-learn the steering wheel before use.

8. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the screen and exterior. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Software Updates: Periodically check for software updates to ensure optimal performance and access to new features.
  • Memory Clean-up: Cleaning up memory speeds up the system.
  • System Reset: If you encounter persistent issues, you can perform a factory reset via "Settings" > "System" > "Backup & reset". This will restore the system to factory settings and clear all data on your device.

9. Troubleshooting

If you experience problems with your device, refer to the following common issues and solutions:

  • No Power: Check all power connections. Ensure the vehicle's battery is charged.
  • No Sound: Verify speaker connections and audio settings (DSP). Check volume levels.
  • GPS Signal Issues: Ensure the GPS module is properly installed and has a clear view of the sky. Check GPS monitoring in settings.
  • Touch Screen Unresponsive: Try restarting the unit. If the issue persists, a factory reset might be necessary.
  • Bluetooth Connection Problems: Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on both the unit and your phone. Try unpairing and re-pairing the devices.
  • App Crashes/Slow Performance: Close unused applications. Perform a memory clean-up.

10. User Tips

  • Button Lighting: The color of the button lighting can be changed through the device settings.
  • Compatibility: Always double-check the radio's fit for your specific car model and year (e.g., Toyota Yaris 2019) to ensure dedicated or universal cubes are compatible.
