- Press and hold the Power button for a few seconds to turn the device off.
3.2 Backlight Control
- Press the Backlight button (yellow button) once to turn the LCD backlight on.
- Press it again to turn the backlight off.
3.3 Unit Switching
The BT-189B supports 11 different air pressure units. Press the UNIT button to cycle through the available units:
- inH2O
- Psi
- Mbar
- kPa
- inHg
- mmHg
- Ozin²
- ftH2O
- cmH2O
- Kgcm²
- Bar

3.4 Data Hold Function
- Press the HOLD button to freeze the current reading on the display. The 'HOLD' indicator will appear.
- Press the HOLD button again to release the data hold and resume live measurements.
3.5 Recording Max/Min/AVG Values
- Press the REC button to enter recording mode. The device will start recording maximum, minimum, and average pressure values.
- While in recording mode, short press the REC button repeatedly to cycle through the recorded Maximum, Minimum, and Average values.
- Long press the REC button for 5 seconds to exit recording mode.
3.6 Differential Pressure Measurement (DIF)
The BT-189B supports three measurement modes: Positive Pressure, Negative Pressure, and Differential Pressure.
- Press the DIF button to activate the differential pressure function.
- The display will show the difference between the current pressure value and the pressure value recorded just before pressing the DIF key.

4. Maintenance
4.1 Cleaning
Wipe the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Keep the pressure ports free from dust and debris.
4.2 Battery Replacement
When the low battery indicator appears on the display, replace the two AAA batteries promptly to ensure accurate readings and continuous operation. Refer to section 2.2 for battery installation steps.
4.3 Storage
When not in use for extended periods, remove the batteries to prevent leakage. Store the device in its carrying bag in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
5. Troubleshooting
5.1 Over-range Indication
- If the display shows ERR1 or ERR2, it indicates that the measured pressure is outside the device's specified range.
- Reduce the applied pressure or ensure the pressure source is within the acceptable limits.
5.2 No Display/Device Not Turning On
- Check if the batteries are correctly installed and have sufficient charge. Replace them if necessary.
- Ensure the power button is pressed firmly.
5.3 Inaccurate Readings
- Ensure the pressure connections are secure and free of leaks.
- Verify that the correct pressure unit is selected.
- Perform a zero-out calibration if available (refer to the main functions image).
- Check for any physical damage to the device or tubes.
