Regular maintenance ensures the efficiency and longevity of your car refrigerator.

  • Cleaning: Disconnect the power before cleaning. Use a soft cloth dampened with mild detergent and water to clean the interior and exterior surfaces. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Defrosting: If ice builds up, turn off the refrigerator and allow the ice to melt naturally. Wipe away excess water with a clean cloth.
  • Ventilation: Ensure the ventilation grilles are free from dust and debris to maintain proper airflow for the compressor.
  • Storage: When not in use for extended periods, clean the refrigerator thoroughly, leave the lid slightly ajar to prevent odors, and store it in a dry, well-ventilated area.

8. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your refrigerator, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • Refrigerator not turning on:
Check if the power cable is securely connected to both the refrigerator and the car's cigarette lighter outlet. Ensure the car's power outlet is functioning.
  • Refrigerator not cooling:
Verify that the temperature setting is appropriate. Check if the ventilation openings are blocked. Ensure the car's engine is running or the car's 12V/16V power supply is active.
  • Unusual noises:
A slight humming sound from the compressor is normal. If you hear loud or unusual noises, ensure the refrigerator is stable and not vibrating against other objects.
  • Digital display not working:
Try turning the unit off and on again. If the issue persists, contact customer support.

9. User Tips

Here are some helpful tips for using your TEMAI GLACIER Car Refrigerator:

  • Pre-chill items: For best results, pre-chill items in a home refrigerator before placing them in the car refrigerator, especially for long trips.
  • Optimize space: Utilize the optional dividing shelf to organize different types of items, such as beverages and fruits, for easy access.
  • Check compatibility: While designed for the Tesla Model Y, always confirm fitment, especially if you have specific configurations like a 7-seater model, as trunk space might vary.
  • Power consumption: The refrigerator is designed for efficient power use (under 0.5kWh for 24-hour operation). However, for extended use with the car off, monitor your car's battery or consider a portable power station.
