7. Continuous Flash Shooting
To prevent the HI900 from overheating, when the flash is continuously fired at full power for a short period (approximately 50 full-power flashes), the temperature of the flash head may increase. In such cases, the HI900 will automatically activate overheat protection, limiting the recycling time. During this period, the "OH" overheat icon will be displayed, and the recycling time will automatically be set to about 4 seconds and 6 seconds.
Warning: Do not continuously flash with full power for a long time, otherwise it will cause the Hi-900 to overheat or age prematurely.
8. Lithium Battery Maintenance and Care
- Charge Cycles: Lithium batteries support approximately 300-500 complete charge cycles in their lifespan.
- Initial Use: Newly purchased lithium batteries activate automatically; no special activation is required.
- Memory Effect: Lithium batteries have no memory effect, allowing for charging on demand to extend lifespan with incomplete charge cycles.
- Low Power: Charge the battery immediately when the power level is low to prevent irreversible damage from over-discharge.
- Charger: Always use the provided matching charger and connect it as per the user manual.
- Storage: For long-term storage (over 3 months), charge the battery for 0.5-1 hour every 3 months to maintain 40%-60% charge. Store in a temperature range of 10-30°C and humidity of 65±20%RH.
- Temperature: The ideal operating temperature is 0-40°C. Performance may be reduced below 0°C.
- Physical Damage: Avoid knocking, needling, watering, or treading on the battery. Keep it away from heat sources, flammable gases, direct sun exposure, microwaves, and high pressure. Do NOT dismantle the battery.
- Charging Duration: Do NOT charge the battery continuously for over 24 hours.
- Safety: Discontinue use immediately if you notice any odor or unusual sound during charging or discharging, and contact JINBEI support.

10. User Tips
- Fast Shooting: The HI900's fast recycle time allows for rapid consecutive shots, ideal for dynamic photography.
- Automatic Exposure: Utilize TTL mode for automatic exposure adjustments, especially in environments with changing light conditions.
- Outdoor Photography: Leverage HSS (High-Speed Sync) when shooting outdoors in bright sunlight to balance flash exposure with ambient light, achieving well-exposed backgrounds.
- Pre-visualization: Use the 3W LED modeling light to preview how your lighting will affect the subject before taking the shot.
- Off-Camera Flash: Explore the wireless master/slave modes for creative off-camera lighting setups. The screen's color change (blue for master, orange for slave) helps quickly identify the current mode.
- Creative Lighting: Experiment with various magnetic light modifiers (color gels, honeycomb, softball) to shape and control your light for different effects.
- Battery Management: Always ensure your battery is fully charged before extended photo shoots to avoid interruptions.
11. Troubleshooting
- Flash not firing: Check battery level, ensure the flash is securely mounted on the hot shoe, and verify that the camera and flash are in a compatible mode (e.g., TTL, M). In wireless mode, ensure channels and groups match.
- Overheating Warning ("OH" icon): If the "OH" icon appears, the flash is overheating. Stop continuous firing and allow the unit to cool down. The recycle time will automatically increase to protect the unit.
- Inconsistent Exposure: In TTL mode, adjust flash exposure compensation. In Manual mode, verify power settings and distance to subject. Check for correct SYNC mode (Front/Rear Curtain, HSS).
- Wireless Triggering Issues: Ensure both master and slave units are set to the same channel and group. Check battery levels on both units. Verify the wireless receiver mode is correctly selected.
- Flash Head Zoom Not Working: Check if the zoom is set to manual mode. If so, adjust it manually. If in auto mode, ensure the lens is communicating correctly with the flash.
