6. Troubleshooting
Common Issues and Solutions
- Device not pairing with app: If pairing fails, unplug the power supply from the IBS-M2 Gateway, restart the device, and then repeat the connection steps (Section 3.4). Ensure your Wi-Fi network is 2.4GHz.
- No data or intermittent connection: The transmission distance is up to 300 feet in open space. If there is interference (e.g., thick walls, other wireless devices), the transmission distance will be limited. Try moving the gateway closer to the thermometer or reducing interference sources.
- Inaccurate readings: Ensure the sensor is clean and free from dust or debris. Do not use alcohol for cleaning.
- Cannot view data remotely: Ensure your IBS-M2 Gateway is successfully connected to your home Wi-Fi network and your smartphone has an active internet connection (Wi-Fi or mobile data). The app allows remote monitoring from anywhere.
7. User Tips
- For optimal performance, ensure your Wi-Fi network is 2.4GHz, as the IBS-M2 Gateway does not support 5GHz networks.
- When adding new sub-devices or re-pairing, keep the devices in close proximity to the gateway to ensure a stable connection.
- Regularly check the battery levels of both the gateway and the thermometer via the app to avoid interruptions in monitoring.
- Utilize the historical data export feature in the app to track long-term temperature and humidity trends, which can be useful for maintaining consistent water quality in pools or aquariums.
