6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the camera lens and body. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the camera in a cool, dry place. Ensure the battery is partially charged to prolong its lifespan.
- Firmware Updates: Check the mobile app periodically for any available firmware updates to ensure optimal performance and security.
- SD Card Management: Regularly back up important recordings and format the Micro SD card every few months to maintain performance and prevent data corruption.
7. Troubleshooting
- Q: What is the name of the mobile application?
- A: The specific app name is usually provided in the product packaging, a quick start guide, or via a QR code on the device itself. Please refer to these sources. If unavailable, try searching your app store for 'DIXSG camera' or 'mini WiFi camera app'.
- Q: The camera is not connecting to my WiFi network.
- A: Ensure your WiFi network is 2.4Ghz. This camera does not support 5Ghz WiFi. Also, check that you have entered the correct WiFi password and that the camera is within range of your router.
- Q: The battery life is shorter than expected.
- A: Continuous recording, frequent remote access, and night vision use can drain the battery faster. For long-term use, connect the camera to a continuous power source (socket or power bank).
- Q: The Micro SD card is not recording or is full.
- A: Ensure the SD card is correctly inserted and formatted. Check the app settings for recording modes (e.g., continuous, motion-activated). If the card is full, you may need to enable loop recording in the app or manually delete old files.
8. User Tips
- The camera comes with 3M adhesive on its base for easy mounting on various surfaces. Ensure the surface is clean and dry before applying.
- For optimal night vision performance, ensure there are no obstructions directly in front of the IR LEDs.
- Utilize the motion detection feature to conserve battery life and storage space, recording only when activity is present.
- When using the camera's hotspot for direct connection, remember the range limitations (5-10m indoors, 10-30m outdoors).
