1. Introduction
The YA-CJ-JC is a versatile three-in-one intelligent measuring tool, combining a 40m laser rangefinder, a 5m steel tape measure, and a laser cross marking function. Designed for both indoor and outdoor use, it offers high precision and multiple measurement modes to meet various needs in construction, decoration, and DIY projects.

2. Safety Information
This device uses a Class 2 laser (635nm ≤ 1MW). Please observe the following safety precautions:
- Do not stare directly into the laser beam.
- Do not aim the laser beam at people or animals.
- Avoid pointing the laser beam at reflective surfaces, as reflected beams can also cause eye damage.
- Keep the device out of reach of children.
- Do not attempt to disassemble or modify the device.
- Use only the specified battery type.

4. Setup
4.1 Battery Installation
Open the battery compartment (6) and insert two (2) 1.5V AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity. Close the compartment securely.
4.2 Power On/Off
- Power On: Press the MEAS key (9).
- Power Off: Press and hold the CLEAR key (7) for a few seconds. The device will also automatically shut down after 180 seconds of inactivity.
4.3 Unit Switching
Press the UNIT key (8) to cycle through measurement units: meters (m), inches (in), and feet (ft).

4.4 Measurement Datum Selection
Press the Measurement Mode Switching key (10) to select the reference point for laser measurements. You can choose between the front edge or the rear edge of the device as the starting point for your measurement.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Using the Steel Tape Measure (0-5m)
- Pull out the tape measure from the tape mouth (5). It features an automatic lock to hold the current measurement position.
- To retract the tape, press the Tape Measure Recycle Button (2). The tape will automatically spring back safely.
- The tape includes both imperial and metric scales for convenience.

Benchmark Compensation for Tape Measure:
The outer side of the ruler hook serves as the 0 scale reference point. When the ruler hook is held against an edge, it will move slightly backward, and the retract length compensates for the thickness of the ruler hook. For internal measurements (hooked inside), the inner side of the ruler hook is the 0 scale base point.

5.2 Using the Laser Rangefinder (0.2-40m)
The laser rangefinder offers various measurement modes. Use the Measurement Mode Switching key (10) to cycle through them.

- Single Measurement:
- Press the MEAS key (9) to turn on the laser point.
- Aim the laser at the target object.
- Press the MEAS key (9) again to take a single measurement.
- Continuous Measurement:
- Press the MEAS key (9) to power on.
- Press and hold the Measurement Mode Switching key (10) to enter continuous measurement mode.
- The laser will continuously scan the object, displaying real-time maximum, minimum, and current values.
- Area Measurement:
- Press the MEAS key (9) to power on and switch to area measurement mode.
- Follow the prompts on the LCD screen to measure the length (A) and width (B). The device will automatically calculate and display the area.
- Volume Measurement:
- Press the MEAS key (9) to power on and switch to volume measurement mode.
- Follow the prompts on the LCD screen to measure the length (A), width (B), and height (C). The device will automatically calculate and display the volume.
- Pythagorean Measurement (Indirect Height Measurement):
- Press the MEAS key (9) to power on and switch to Pythagorean measurement mode.
- Measure the hypotenuse (A) and one side (B) as indicated on the LCD screen. The device will automatically calculate and display the height (H).
- Secondary Pythagorean Measurement:
- Press the MEAS key (9) to power on and switch to secondary Pythagorean measurement mode.
- Measure the upper bevel edge (A), lower bevel edge (B), and vertical edge (C) in sequence as prompted by the LCD icon. The device will automatically calculate and display the height (H).
Data Storage:
The device can store up to 20 groups of measurement data. Use the UNIT key (8) to view stored data.
5.3 Using the Laser Cross Marking Function
The laser cross marking function projects horizontal and vertical laser lines, useful for alignment and marking during installation or decoration tasks.

6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: The device features a dustproof design. Wipe the device, especially the lens (3) and display screen (1), with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Battery Replacement: Replace batteries when the low battery indicator appears on the display. Always use two new 1.5V AAA batteries.
- Storage: Store the device in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. The recommended storage temperature is -10°C to 50°C.
- Durability: The TPR plastic shell design provides strong and wear-resistant protection.

7. Troubleshooting
- Inaccurate Readings:
- Check battery level. Low battery power can significantly affect measurement accuracy.
- Ensure the laser lens is clean and free from obstructions.
- Avoid measuring in harsh environments such as strong direct sunlight or areas with large fluctuations in ambient temperature, as these can cause errors.
- Device Not Powering On:
- Check if the batteries are correctly inserted and fully charged. Replace if necessary.
- Ensure the power button (MEAS) is pressed firmly.
- Tape Measure Not Retracting:
- Ensure the tape measure recycle button is fully depressed.
- Check for any physical obstructions in the tape mouth.
