2. Setup and Initial Adjustment

2.1 Setting Time and Date

  1. Pull out the crown: Gently pull the crown (the knob on the side of the watch) to its outermost position.
  2. Set the time: Rotate the crown to adjust the hour and minute hands to the correct time. Ensure you differentiate between AM and PM for accurate date change.
  3. Set the date and day: Push the crown halfway back in. Rotate the crown in one direction to adjust the date and in the other direction to adjust the day of the week. If the date changes at noon, advance the time by 12 hours.
  4. Push in the crown: Once the time, date, and day are set, push the crown fully back into its normal operating position.

2.2 Band Adjustment

The stainless steel strap can be adjusted for a comfortable fit. This typically involves removing or adding links. It is recommended to have this procedure performed by a professional watchmaker to avoid damaging the strap or clasp mechanism.

3. Operating Your Watch

3.1 Reading Time and Calendar

The watch displays hours, minutes, and seconds via its central hands. The day of the week and date are shown in dedicated windows on the dial.

3.2 Luminous Function

The hands and hour markers are treated with a luminous material, allowing for readability in low-light conditions. Exposure to light charges this material, causing it to glow in the dark.

3.3 Water Resistance

This watch is water-resistant to 3 Bar (30 meters). This means it is suitable for daily use and can withstand splashes or brief immersion in water. However, it is NOT recommended for swimming, showering, or diving. Avoid operating the crown or pushers when the watch is wet.

4. Care and Maintenance

4.1 Cleaning

Wipe the watch regularly with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust and smudges. For the stainless steel strap, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by immediate drying.

4.2 Battery Replacement

As a quartz watch, it is powered by a battery. When the watch stops running, the battery will need to be replaced. It is recommended to have the battery replaced by a qualified watch technician to ensure proper sealing and maintain water resistance.

4.3 Avoiding Damage

  • Avoid exposing the watch to extreme temperatures (hot or cold).
  • Keep the watch away from strong magnetic fields, which can affect the accuracy of the quartz movement.
  • Avoid harsh chemicals, solvents, and detergents, as these can damage the watch's finish and seals.
  • Protect the watch from strong impacts or drops.

5. Troubleshooting

5.1 Watch Not Running

If the watch stops running, the most common cause is a depleted battery. Please refer to section 4.2 for battery replacement.

5.2 Date/Day Not Changing

Ensure the time is set correctly, especially distinguishing between AM and PM. The date and day typically change around midnight. If the issue persists after correctly setting the time, consult a watch technician.

5.3 Condensation Inside the Watch

If you notice condensation (fogging) inside the watch crystal, it indicates a breach in the water resistance. This should be addressed immediately by a professional watchmaker to prevent internal damage to the movement.

7. User Tips

  • Water Resistance: While rated for 30M, this is for splashes and brief immersion. Do not press buttons underwater or expose to hot water/steam (e.g., showers, saunas) as this can compromise seals.
  • Luminous Feature: For optimal glow, expose the watch dial to bright light for a few minutes before entering dark environments.
  • Date/Day Adjustment: Avoid adjusting the date or day between 9 PM and 3 AM, as this is when the internal mechanisms are engaged for automatic change and manual adjustment during this period can cause damage.

8. Warranty and Support

Your OLEVS 9931 watch is manufactured to high standards. For any warranty claims or technical support, please refer to the warranty information provided at the time of purchase or contact the authorized OLEVS service center or your retailer. Keep your proof of purchase for warranty validation.
