5. Setup and Installation
Before installation, ensure the electric vehicle's battery is disconnected. The HCD-1220L1CON and HCD-1215L2CON controllers are designed with similar 7-pin connectors for ease of installation, as shown in the compatibility diagram.
5.1 Controller Installation
- Locate the existing motor controller in your child's electric vehicle.
- Carefully disconnect all wiring from the old controller, noting the position of each wire (power, motor, steering, pedal, etc.).
- Connect the new HCD controller (HCD-1220L1CON or HCD-1215L2CON) to the vehicle's wiring harness. Pay close attention to the 7-pin connector and other power/motor terminals. Ensure all connections are secure.
- Mount the controller securely within the vehicle, away from moisture and excessive heat.

5.2 Remote Control Pairing
To pair the remote control with the installed receiver/controller:
- Ensure the vehicle's power is OFF.
- Press and hold the 'M' (Mode/Pairing) button on the remote control.
- While holding the 'M' button, turn ON the power switch of the electric vehicle.
- Continue holding the 'M' button for approximately 3-5 seconds until the vehicle responds (e.g., lights flash, a sound is heard, or the vehicle slightly moves).
- Release the 'M' button. The remote control should now be paired with the vehicle.
- Test all functions of the remote control to confirm successful pairing.
6. Operating Instructions
Once the remote control is paired, you can operate the electric vehicle wirelessly.
6.1 Remote Control Buttons
- ↑ (Up Arrow): Move vehicle forward.
- ↓ (Down Arrow): Move vehicle backward (reverse).
- ← (Left Arrow): Steer vehicle left.
- → (Right Arrow): Steer vehicle right.
- S (Speed): Cycles through speed settings (e.g., low, medium, high).
- P (Parking/Brake): Activates the parking brake, stopping the vehicle.
- M (Mode/Pairing): Used for pairing the remote control with the receiver. In some models, it may also switch between manual and remote control modes.
7. Maintenance
- Keep the remote control and controller units clean and dry.
- Avoid exposing the units to direct sunlight for extended periods.
- Regularly check all wiring connections for looseness or corrosion.
- Replace remote control batteries when performance degrades.
- Store the units in a cool, dry place when not in use.
8. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your HCD remote control or receiver, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
- Vehicle does not respond to remote control:
• Ensure the remote control batteries are fresh and correctly inserted.
• Re-attempt the pairing process (Section 5.2).
• Check that the vehicle's power is on. - Vehicle moves erratically or intermittently:
• Check all wiring connections to the controller for looseness or damage.
• Ensure there are no strong interference sources (e.g., other 2.4GHz devices) nearby. - Vehicle has no power:
• Verify the vehicle's main battery is charged and properly connected.
• Check the main power fuse (if applicable) in the vehicle. - Remote control buttons do not function as expected:
• Confirm the remote is correctly paired.
• Ensure no buttons are stuck or obstructed.
9. User Tips
- Verify Compatibility: Always confirm the model number of your existing controller or the required specifications for your vehicle before purchasing a replacement. The HCD-1220L1CON and HCD-1215L2CON models have distinct voltage and current ratings.
- Check Included Components: The product title indicates 'Remote Controls and Receivers, Kid's motorcycle Controllers'. This suggests a set including both the remote and a controller/receiver unit. Always confirm the exact contents of your package upon arrival.
- Battery Care: For optimal performance and longevity of your vehicle, ensure the vehicle's battery is regularly charged according to its manufacturer's guidelines.
