1. Introduction

The OOTDTY ZG-005-RF is a versatile 4-channel smart relay switch designed to integrate seamlessly into your smart home system. It supports Zigbee3.0 for smart app control via Tuya or Smart Life, and also features 433MHz RF for remote control. This module allows you to remotely and independently control up to four household appliances, offering various operating modes including self-locking, interlocking, and inching to suit diverse automation needs. It can also function as a Zigbee router to enhance signal stability within your network.

2. Setup and Installation

2.1 Power Supply

The ZG-005-RF Smart Switch can be powered by either AC 85-250V or USB 5V. Ensure the correct power source is connected according to your setup requirements.

2.2 Wiring Instructions

Before installation, ensure all power is disconnected to prevent electric shock. Connect your appliances to the appropriate output terminals (NC, COM, NO) and the power input to the 'Input' terminals (85-250V).

2.3 App Pairing (Zigbee3.0)

  1. Download the Tuya Smart or Smart Life application from your smartphone's app store.
  2. Register or log in to your account.
  3. Ensure your Zigbee gateway (hub) is powered on and connected to the app.
  4. Power on the ZG-005-RF switch.
  5. In the app, select 'Add Device' and follow the on-screen instructions to add a Zigbee device. The switch should enter pairing mode automatically or by pressing the 'Mode Switch' button for a few seconds until an indicator light blinks.
  6. Once detected, name your device and assign it to a room.

2.4 RF Remote Pairing (433MHz)

The ZG-005-RF supports 433MHz RF remote control. To pair a remote:

  1. Press the 'Mode Switch' button on the ZG-005-RF module once to enter learning mode for a specific channel (e.g., K1).
  2. Press the desired button on your 433MHz RF remote control. The module's indicator light will flash to confirm successful pairing.
  3. Repeat for other channels (K2, K3, K4) if desired.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 App Control

Once paired with the Tuya Smart or Smart Life app, you can control each of the four channels independently from your smartphone. The app interface will typically show four buttons (Channel 1-4) to toggle connected devices on or off.

3.2 RF Remote Control

Use your paired 433MHz RF remote control to toggle the corresponding channels. Each button on the remote can be assigned to a specific channel (K1-K4) on the switch.

3.3 Operating Modes

The ZG-005-RF supports three operating modes: self-locking, interlocking, and inching. These modes can typically be configured within the Tuya/Smart Life app or via specific button presses on the device (refer to the app for detailed mode configuration):

  • Self-locking Mode: Each channel operates independently. Pressing a button turns the corresponding channel ON, pressing it again turns it OFF.
  • Interlocking Mode: Only one channel can be ON at a time. If Channel 1 is ON and you press Channel 2, Channel 1 will turn OFF and Channel 2 will turn ON.
  • Inching Mode (Momentary): The channel turns ON for a brief period (e.g., 0.5-2 seconds) and then automatically turns OFF. This is useful for momentary actions like opening a garage door.

3.4 Smart Home Integration and Zigbee Router Function

The switch can be integrated into various smart home scenarios through the Tuya/Smart Life app. You can create automation rules, schedules, and link it with other smart devices. Additionally, the ZG-005-RF acts as a Zigbee router, extending the range and strengthening the mesh network for other Zigbee devices in your home.

4. Maintenance

The ZG-005-RF Smart Switch requires minimal maintenance. Keep the device clean and free from dust. Do not expose it to extreme temperatures or moisture. If cleaning is necessary, use a dry, soft cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.

5. Troubleshooting

  • Device not responding: Check power supply. Ensure the device is within range of your Zigbee gateway or RF remote. Re-pair if necessary.
  • App connectivity issues: Verify your Zigbee gateway is online and connected to the internet. Restart the app or your gateway.
  • RF remote not working: Ensure the remote is paired correctly. Check the remote's battery.
  • Intermittent control: This could be due to weak Zigbee signals. Ensure the ZG-005-RF is centrally located or consider adding more Zigbee routers to strengthen your mesh network.
