3. Setup

3.1. Compatibility

The EKD01 display is compatible with BAFANG BBS01B/BBS02B/BBSHD Mid Drive Motors, BAFANG Hub Motors, and SUTTO Hub Motors that utilize the UART communication protocol with a 5PIN Female Plug. It is not compatible with CAN Protocol motors or other brands of motors unless specified.

Compatibility Diagram: Ensure your motor uses the UART Protocol with a 5PIN Female Connector.

5 Pin Female Connector: This is the required connector type for the EKD01 display.

3.2. Installation

Installation of the EKD01 display is straightforward and typically takes only a few minutes. Mount the display securely on your ebike handlebar (compatible with Φ22.2/25.4mm holders) and connect the 5PIN Female Plug to your motor's UART protocol cable. Ensure all connections are firm before powering on.

The display supports 3-level, 5-level, or 9-level PAS modes, which can be configured in the settings. This allows riders to choose their preferred level of motor assistance.

• Bluetooth Connectivity Issues: Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your mobile device and the display. Try restarting both devices. Make sure you are using the correct mobile application for connection.
• Error Codes: If an error code appears on the display, refer to your BAFANG motor's manual for specific error code definitions and troubleshooting steps. Do not attempt to reset parameters if the display is not working without proper guidance.
