4. Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Haomuren K66S-C microphone kit, follow these maintenance guidelines:
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe down the microphone and boom arm. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
- Storage: When not in use, store the microphone in a clean, dry place away from extreme temperatures and humidity.
- Cable Care: Avoid bending or kinking the USB cable excessively. Store it neatly to prevent damage.
- Boom Arm: Periodically check the screws and joints of the boom arm to ensure they are tight and secure.
5. Troubleshooting
- No Sound/Microphone Not Detected:
- Ensure the USB cable is securely connected to both the microphone and your computer.
- Check your computer's sound settings (as described in Section 2.3 and 2.4) to ensure "K66 Audio Device" is selected as the input device.
- Verify the mute button on the microphone is not activated (blue light indicates ON).
- Try connecting the microphone to a different USB port or another computer to rule out port or system issues.
- Poor Sound Quality/Noise:
- Adjust the Mic Gain knob on the microphone. Too high can cause distortion, too low can result in faint audio.
- Ensure the microphone is positioned correctly, facing the sound source directly.
- Check for environmental noise and try to minimize it. The built-in DSP chip helps with noise cancellation.
- Ensure the foam windscreen is properly installed to reduce plosives and breath sounds.
- Echo Issues:
- Adjust the Echo Adjustment knob on the microphone to reduce or increase the effect as desired.
- Boom Arm Stability:
- Ensure the desk clamp is securely tightened to the desk.
- Verify all joints on the boom arm are tightened to prevent sagging.

8. User Tips & FAQ
- Phone Connectivity: While primarily designed for PC/Mac, some users inquire about phone connectivity. The microphone uses a Type-C interface. For direct connection to phones (e.g., iPhone XS Max or Android phones), you may need a compatible adapter (e.g., USB-C to Lightning or USB-C to USB-C) which is not included. Ensure your phone supports external USB audio input.
- Xbox Connectivity: Connecting directly to an Xbox typically requires an adapter or a specific setup that routes audio through a PC. The microphone is not natively plug-and-play with Xbox consoles.
- Cable Replacement: If your USB cable breaks, contact customer service for a replacement or purchase a standard Type-C to USB-A data cable that supports audio transmission.
- Multiple Microphones: While you can connect multiple USB microphones to a single PC, managing them simultaneously for recording or streaming may require specific software (e.g., OBS, Voicemeeter) to mix the audio inputs. Direct connection of two microphones to one phone is generally not supported without specialized hardware.
- Monitoring: Always use the 3.5mm headphone jack on the microphone for real-time, zero-latency monitoring of your audio. This helps you hear exactly what the microphone is capturing without delay.
