4. Setup Guide

4.1. Software Installation

The FURUI PM-Pro requires dedicated software to function. This software is typically provided by the seller or available for download from the manufacturer's official website. Please ensure you obtain and install the correct software for your operating system (Windows XP/7/8/10) before connecting the device.

  1. Obtain the PM-Pro software from the provided source.
  2. Run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
  3. Restart your computer if prompted.

4.2. Connecting the Device

  1. Ensure the software is installed and running.
  2. Connect the PM-Pro device to an available USB port on your computer using the integrated USB cable.
  3. The device should be automatically recognized by the software. A 'Status: Connected' message should appear in the software interface.

5. Operating Instructions

The PM-Pro software interface allows for various operations including reading, writing, decoding, and formatting cards. The device features distinct areas for IC and ID card operations.

5.1. Reading a Card

  1. Place the card (IC or ID) on the corresponding 'IC READ WRITE' or 'ID READ WRITE' area of the device.
  2. In the software, select the appropriate card type tab (e.g., 'LowFreqCard' for ID cards, 'HighFreqCard' for IC cards).
  3. Click the 'Read' button. The software will display the card's data in the 'Decode block' area.

5.2. Writing to a Card

  1. Ensure you have the data you wish to write (e.g., from a previously read card or a saved file).
  2. Place the target writable card (e.g., T5577, EM4305, Mifare UID CUID FUID) on the appropriate read/write area of the device.
  3. In the software, load or input the data.
  4. Click the 'Write' or 'Single Write' button.
  5. Wait for the software to confirm successful writing.

5.3. Decoding Encrypted Cards

The PM-Pro has capabilities to decode encrypted cards. This process may vary depending on the card's encryption level.

  1. Place the encrypted card on the device.
  2. In the software, navigate to the relevant card type tab.
  3. Utilize the 'Decode' button or 'Brute Attack Sec' options if available and necessary.
  4. Monitor the software for decoding progress and results.

6. Maintenance

  • Keep the device clean and free from dust and moisture. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning.
  • Avoid dropping the device or exposing it to extreme temperatures.
  • Store the device in a safe place when not in use.

7. Troubleshooting

7.1. Device Not Recognized / Software Not Connecting

  • Ensure the PM-Pro software is correctly installed and running.
  • Try connecting the device to a different USB port.
  • Restart your computer and the PM-Pro software.
  • Verify that your operating system is supported (Windows XP/7/8/10).

7.2. Card Read/Write Errors

  • Ensure the card is placed correctly on the designated 'IC READ WRITE' or 'ID READ WRITE' area.
  • Check if the card type and frequency are supported by the PM-Pro (refer to Section 3: Specifications).
  • For writing, ensure the target card is a writable type (e.g., T5577, EM4305, Mifare UID CUID FUID).
  • Some cards, like Desfire v3, may not be directly supported or may require advanced techniques not covered by standard operations. Always verify compatibility for specific card types.

8. User Tips

  • Software Availability: The software is crucial for operation. If not included, contact your seller for download links or instructions.
  • Card Compatibility: Always double-check the specifications for supported card types and frequencies to avoid compatibility issues.
  • Encrypted Cards: While the device can crack some encryption, highly secure or newer encryption methods may pose challenges.
  • Data Backup: Before attempting to write or modify card data, always back up the original card data if possible.
