4.2. Connection Modes
The AnyEast AT004 offers three ways to connect to your device:
-
2.4G Wireless Connection (via USB Dongle)
- Plug the 2.4G USB dongle into an available USB port on your computer or POS system.
- Turn on the barcode scanner. It should automatically connect to the dongle.
- A successful connection is usually indicated by a specific sound or light pattern on the scanner.
-
Bluetooth Connection
- Ensure your host device (smartphone, tablet, laptop) has Bluetooth enabled.
- Turn on the barcode scanner and put it into Bluetooth pairing mode (refer to the quick setup guide for specific barcode scans to enter pairing mode).
- On your host device, search for available Bluetooth devices and select "AnyEast AT004" (or similar name).
- Confirm pairing if prompted.
-
USB Wired Connection
- Connect the scanner directly to your computer or POS system using the provided USB cable.
- The scanner will function as a wired device and also charge simultaneously.
Note for Mac Users: If your Mac has only Type-C ports, you will need a Type-C to USB-A adapter (not included) to use the 2.4G USB dongle or the wired USB connection.

5. Operating Modes
5.1. Scanning Modes
The scanner supports different scanning activation methods to suit various workflows:
-
Key Trigger Scanning
Press the scan button to activate the scanner and read a barcode. This is the standard manual scanning method.
-
Auto-Sensing Scanning
In this mode, the scanner automatically detects a barcode within its field of view and scans it without requiring a button press. This is ideal for hands-free operation.
-
Continuous Scanning
The scanner continuously emits a scan beam, reading any barcode that passes through its field. This mode is useful for high-volume scanning tasks.
You can switch between these modes by scanning specific configuration barcodes found in the quick setup guide or the full user manual (if provided separately).

5.2. Data Transfer Modes
The scanner can transfer data in two primary ways:
-
Instant Upload (Normal Run Mode)
Scanned barcodes are immediately transmitted to the connected device. This is the default mode for real-time data entry.
-
Storage Mode
Barcodes are stored in the scanner's internal memory (up to 2 million barcodes) and can be uploaded to the connected device later when needed. This mode is useful when working out of range of the host device.
To switch to Storage Mode or upload stored data, scan the appropriate configuration barcodes from the user manual.

6. Advanced Settings and Customization
The AnyEast AT004 can be customized to fit specific operational requirements:
-
Custom Prefix or Suffix
You can add or hide custom characters before or after the scanned barcode data. This is useful for data formatting or system integration.

-
Enable or Disable Barcode Types
You can enable or disable specific 1D or 2D barcode symbologies to prevent accidental scanning of unwanted codes or to optimize performance for frequently used types.
-
Add Keyboard Keys
Configure the scanner to automatically add keyboard keys like TAB or CR (Carriage Return/Enter) after each scan, streamlining data entry into applications.
-
Change Capital/Lowercase
Adjust the output of alphanumeric barcode data to be all uppercase or all lowercase.
-
Custom Volume Settings
Adjust the scanner's beep volume to Mute, Low, Medium, or High, suitable for different working environments.

7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your AnyEast AT004 scanner, please refer to the following common solutions:
-
Scanner Not Connecting/Pairing
- Ensure the scanner is fully charged.
- Verify the correct connection mode (2.4G, Bluetooth, or Wired) is selected and properly configured.
- For Bluetooth, ensure your host device's Bluetooth is on and the scanner is in pairing mode.
- For 2.4G wireless, ensure the USB dongle is securely plugged in.
- Try restarting both the scanner and the host device.
-
No Data Output After Scanning
- Check if the scanner is successfully connected to your device.
- Ensure the application you are using is ready to receive input (e.g., a text field is active).
- If in Storage Mode, remember to upload the stored data by scanning the appropriate command barcode.
- Verify the barcode type is enabled in the scanner's settings.
-
Unable to Scan Certain Barcodes
- Ensure the barcode is not severely damaged, smudged, or too reflective. The scanner has advanced decoding capabilities but extreme conditions can still pose a challenge.
- Check if the specific barcode symbology is enabled in the scanner's settings.
- Adjust the distance and angle of the scanner to the barcode.
-
POS System Compatibility
If connecting to a POS system, ensure the POS system supports the USB keyboard protocol for the scanner to function correctly.
-
Mac Type-C Port Issue
If using a Mac with only Type-C ports for 2.4G wireless or wired connection, an external Type-C to USB-A adapter is required.
If these steps do not resolve your issue, please consult the full user manual or contact customer support.
8. User Tips
- Optimize for Environment: Use Auto-Sensing mode for stationary scanning tasks and Key Trigger for mobile or precise scanning.
- Battery Management: Utilize Storage Mode when working away from your computer to save battery and ensure data is captured even when out of range.
- Customization for Efficiency: Take advantage of the prefix/suffix settings to automatically format data for your specific software, reducing manual input errors.
- Sound Control: Adjust the volume to mute in quiet environments like libraries or to high in noisy warehouses to ensure scan confirmation.
- Keep it Handy: Use the included lanyard to keep the scanner accessible and prevent loss, especially in busy work settings.
