Setup

1. Physical Installation (Mounting)

The PopBloom aquarium light features an adjustable rearward sliding arm for easy mounting on various tank types.

  • Attach the vertical bracket to the light head using the provided screws.
  • Secure the base to the vertical bracket.
  • Mount the assembly onto your aquarium. The arm is designed to fit both rimless and rimmed tanks with a glass/rimmed thickness of less than 3cm (1.18 inches).
  • Adjust the light's position: The arm allows for adjustable length (up to 12cm/4.8in) and adjustable height (up to 12cm/4.8in) to achieve optimal light coverage for your tank.
  • Connect the power supply to the light and then plug it into a suitable AC 100-265V power outlet.

2. Smart App Connection (Wi-Fi)

The light can be controlled via a smartphone app. Follow these steps to connect your light:

  1. Open Wi-Fi & Bluetooth Access: Ensure Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are enabled on your smartphone and that the app has location access permissions.
  2. Open App, Add Device: Download the 'Smart Life' app from your app store (iOS/Android) or scan the QR code provided in the user manual. Open the app and select the option to 'Add Device'.
  3. Connect to Home Wi-Fi: Enter your 2.4GHz home Wi-Fi network details (SSID and password) into the app. Note: The light only supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi networks.
  4. Connect to Light: Follow the in-app instructions to pair your light. Once successfully added, you can control your light via the app.

Operating Instructions

Once connected to the app, you can utilize the full range of features to customize your aquarium lighting:

  • Full Spectrum Control: Adjust the intensity of each of the four channels (White, Violet, Blue, Red/Green) to create the perfect color spectrum for your specific corals and fish.
  • Natural Simulation Modes:
    • **Sunrise/Sunset:** Gradually increases and decreases light intensity to simulate natural dawn and dusk cycles.
    • **4 Seasons:** Mimics seasonal light changes.
    • **Lunar Cycle:** Simulates the moon's phases for nocturnal activity.
    • **24-Hour Cycle:** Provides a complete daily light cycle.
  • Acclimation Program: Use this feature to slowly introduce new corals or fish to the light, preventing shock by gradually increasing light intensity over a set period.
  • DIY Program: Create and save your own custom lighting schedules and spectrum settings.
  • Group Control System: If you have multiple PopBloom lights, you can group them together in the app for synchronized control, managing all lights from a single interface.

Optics and Light Quality

The light features super-wide and innovative optics, combining high-quality LED chips with a COB anti-glare lens. This design ensures a 120° wide spread, even PAR distribution, no light spots, and reduced glare for optimal viewing and coral health.

Maintenance

Proper maintenance will extend the life and performance of your PopBloom LED light:

  • Cleaning: Regularly wipe the light fixture and lens with a soft, damp cloth to remove salt creep, dust, and water spots. Ensure the light is unplugged before cleaning. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
  • Ventilation: Ensure the light's cooling fins are free from obstructions to allow for proper heat dissipation. Good airflow prevents overheating and prolongs LED lifespan.
  • Power Cord: Periodically inspect the power cord for any signs of damage. If damaged, discontinue use and contact customer support for a replacement.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your PopBloom LED light, try the following solutions:

  • Light Not Turning On:
    • Check if the power cord is securely plugged into both the light and the power outlet.
    • Verify that the power outlet is functional.
  • App Connection Issues:
    • Ensure your smartphone's Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are on.
    • Confirm you are connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network.
    • Restart the app and try the connection process again.
    • Reset the light (refer to the app or manufacturer's instructions for specific reset procedures).
  • Inconsistent Light Output:
    • Check app settings for any scheduled programs or dimming cycles that might be active.
    • Ensure the light's cooling system is not obstructed, as overheating can cause performance issues.

If problems persist, please contact PopBloom customer support for further assistance.
