3. Setup and Initial Use

Unboxing and Inspection
Carefully remove the unicycle from its packaging. Inspect for any visible damage. Ensure all accessories are present.

Charging the Battery
Before first use, fully charge the unicycle. Connect the 126V 5A charger to the dual charge port. A full charge takes approximately 4.5 hours. Do not use unauthorized chargers.

Adjusting Pedals
The honeycomb pedals are angle-adjustable. Use the Pedal Adjust Button to set the desired angle for comfort and control. The image below illustrates the adjustable angles.

Suspension Adjustment
The Veteran Patton features a mid-mounted, preload adjustable suspension with 12 compression clicks and 18 rebound clicks, offering an 80mm shock absorption stroke. There are three main suspension versions, each suited for different rider weights:
- 58 LBS version: Suitable for rider weight below 80kg.
- 62 LBS version: Suitable for rider weight between 80-90kg.
- 66 LBS version: Suitable for rider weight over 90kg.
Adjust the preload and damping settings according to your weight and riding style for optimal performance and comfort. Consult the detailed suspension manual (if provided separately) for precise adjustments.

Extending the Trolley Handle
For easy transport when walking, extend the built-in trolley handle. Pull the handle upwards from its stowed position until it locks into place. To retract, press the release button and push the handle back down.

4. Operating the Unicycle

Power On/Off
Press and hold the power button (usually located near the display) to turn the unicycle on or off. The display will illuminate upon power-on.

Understanding the Display
The integrated display provides crucial information during your ride:

Riding Modes and Speed Limits
The unicycle offers different speed modes:
- Normal mode: Up to 85km/h free-spin speed.
- High speed mode: Up to 105km/h free-spin speed.
- Safe speed: Limited to 25km/h for safety.
Speed limits can be set via the display. Always ride within your skill level and local speed regulations.

Using the Kickstand

5. Maintenance

Cleaning
Regularly wipe down the unicycle with a damp cloth. Avoid using high-pressure water jets or harsh chemicals that could damage electronic components or finishes.

Tire Care
The 18-inch off-road tire requires regular inspection. Check tire pressure before each ride and inflate to the recommended PSI (refer to the tire sidewall for details). Inspect for wear, punctures, or damage. Replace worn tires promptly.

Battery Maintenance
The unicycle is equipped with a 126V 2220Wh Samsung 50E 21700 battery. To prolong battery life:
- Avoid fully discharging the battery.
- Charge the battery regularly, even if not in use, to maintain a healthy charge level (e.g., 50-70% for long-term storage).
- Store the unicycle in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Do not expose the battery to water or excessive heat.

Suspension System
Periodically check the suspension components for any signs of wear, damage, or leaks. Keep the suspension clean and free of dirt. If you notice any issues, consult a qualified technician.

6. Troubleshooting
The Veteran Patton features a "Fault self rerifying" software system that provides warnings for various issues:
- Battery packs high temperature warning: Indicates the battery is overheating. Stop riding and allow it to cool down.
- Battery packs overcharged warning: Occurs if charging exceeds safe limits. Ensure you are using the correct charger.
- Battery packs high voltage warning: Indicates voltage is too high.
- Charging current over default value range warning: Charging current is outside safe parameters.
- Hall and warning: Indicates an issue with the motor's Hall sensors.
- Vehicle overheat warning: The unicycle's internal components are overheating.
- Low battery protection: At 97.5V, the unicycle will beep; at 94.5V, it will tilt back in normal mode. In low battery mode, it beeps at 90V and tilts back at 87V. Recharge immediately.
- Overheat protection: A code warning will appear at 80℃.
If you encounter any of these warnings or other operational issues, stop riding immediately and consult the display for error codes. If the problem persists, contact customer support.
