5. Setup

5.1 Physical Installation

The camera can be installed in various locations including ceiling, embedded, side, normal, wall mounted, pendant mount, vertical pole mount, or corner mount. Choose a location that provides the desired viewing angle and is within reach of network and power connections.

1. Mounting Location: Select a suitable location for installation.
2. Secure Mounting: Use the provided screw kit to securely mount the camera to the chosen surface. Ensure the camera is firmly attached to prevent accidental falls.
3. Adjust Angle: Adjust the camera's pan (0˚-360˚) and tilt (-10˚-180˚) to cover the desired surveillance area.

5.2 Connection

The camera supports Power over Ethernet (POE) for simplified wiring, or a standard 12V DC power supply if POE is not available.

5.3 Software Setup (XMEye App)

To access your camera remotely, download and set up the XMEye app on your mobile device.

1. Download App: Scan the QR code provided in the app setup image or search for "XMEye" on Google Play (Android) or the App Store (iOS).
2. Register/Login: Open the app and register a new account or log in with an existing one.
3. Add Device: Follow the in-app instructions to add your camera. This usually involves scanning a QR code on the camera or manually entering its ID.
4. Remote View: Once added, you can view live footage and manage settings from anywhere.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Live View and Recording

Access the live feed through the XMEye app or VMS software. You can initiate manual recordings or configure continuous recording via a compatible NVR.

6.2 Night Vision Modes

The camera automatically switches between day and night modes based on ambient light. You can also configure specific night vision settings:

• Day Vision: Standard color video during daylight.
• IR Night Vision: Black and white video using infrared illumination in low light.
• Full Color Night Vision: Utilizes dual light LEDs to provide color video even in complete darkness.

6.5 AI Face Detection

The camera's AI Face Detection feature can identify and record human faces. For this function to work effectively, it requires a compatible NVR that also supports AI face detection.

7. Maintenance

• Cleaning: Gently wipe the camera lens with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust or smudges. Do not use harsh chemicals.
• Firmware Updates: Periodically check for firmware updates through the XMEye app or ASECAM's official website to ensure optimal performance and access to new features.
• Connection Check: Regularly inspect all cable connections for wear or damage, especially for outdoor installations. Ensure waterproof connectors are properly sealed.

8. Troubleshooting

No image/video feed:

• Check power supply: Ensure the camera is receiving adequate power (12V DC or POE).
• Check network connection: Verify the network cable is securely connected to both the camera and the router/NVR.
• Restart devices: Power cycle the camera, router, and NVR.

Poor image quality:

• Clean the lens: Dust or smudges on the lens can degrade image quality.
• Check resolution settings: Ensure the camera is configured for 8MP 4K resolution in the app/VMS.
• Verify network bandwidth: Insufficient bandwidth can affect streaming quality.

Motion detection not triggering or too many false alarms:

• Adjust sensitivity: Modify motion detection sensitivity settings in the app.
• Configure detection zones: Use the customizable motion detection areas to exclude irrelevant zones (e.g., moving trees).
• Ensure Human Body Detection is enabled if you want to filter out non-human movements.

Camera not connecting to NVR:

• Verify NVR compatibility: Ensure your NVR supports ONVIF protocol, which this camera uses.
• Check network settings: Confirm both camera and NVR are on the same network segment.
• Consult NVR manual: Refer to your NVR's manual for specific device addition procedures.

No Wi-Fi connectivity:

• This camera is designed for wired IP/Network connectivity and does not support Wi-Fi.
