Setup and Connection
- **Identify the correct cable:** Based on your motorcycle's make and model, select the appropriate diagnostic cable from your M3 package (e.g., OBD-II, Honda 4P, Yamaha 2P/3P/4P, Kawasaki 4-6P, SYM 3P, KYMCO 3P, EUROV, VESPA, Suzuki 6P/4P).
- **Locate the diagnostic port:** Refer to your motorcycle's owner's manual to find the diagnostic port (often under the seat, near the battery, or behind a side panel).
- **Connect the cable:** Connect one end of the selected diagnostic cable to the M3 device and the other end to your motorcycle's diagnostic port.
- **Power on the device:** The M3 device typically draws power from the motorcycle's battery once connected. Ensure the motorcycle's ignition is turned on (engine off).

Operating Instructions
Once the device is connected and powered on, use the navigation buttons (Up/Down/Left/Right, OK, Back) to select desired functions from the main menu.
Main Functions:
- **Diagnose:** Accesses the diagnostic menu for various system checks.
- **Voltage Test:** Initiates a real-time battery voltage test.
- **Setting:** Configures device settings, including language and units.
- **Help:** Provides on-screen assistance and information.
Diagnostic Procedures:
- **Quick Test:**
This function automatically scans all systems of the vehicle model and reads any present fault codes. It provides a comprehensive overview of the motorcycle's assembly status.

- **Read Fault Codes:**
Select "Read Fault Code" from the Diagnose menu to view current and pending diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) stored in the motorcycle's ECU. The device will display the fault code and a description.
- **Clear Fault Codes:**
After addressing the underlying issue, select "Clear Fault Code" to erase stored DTCs. Confirm the action when prompted. This will also clear freeze frame data.
- **Read Data Stream:**
View real-time data from various sensors and components, such as engine speed, temperature, ignition timing, intake air temperature, and manifold pressure. This data can be displayed as an oscillogram for detailed analysis.

- **Read Freeze Frame Data:**
When a fault code is set, the ECU records a snapshot of sensor readings at that moment. This "freeze frame" data helps in diagnosing intermittent problems.
- **Actuator Test:**
This function allows you to activate specific components (actuators) to verify their operation, such as the electronic fuel pump, engine warning light, or fan.
- **Voltage Detection:**
From the main menu, select "Voltage" to perform a real-time test of the OBD battery voltage. The device will display the current voltage and a waveform showing voltage fluctuations.

Maintenance
Software Upgrade:
The FXTUL M3 device supports software upgrades to ensure compatibility with newer motorcycle models and to receive feature enhancements. Updates are typically provided by the manufacturer.
- **Download Update Files:** Obtain the latest software update files from the manufacturer's official website or contact customer service.
- **Connect to Computer:** Connect the M3 device to your computer using the provided USB data cable.
- **Device Recognition:** Wait for your computer to recognize the device. A new drive symbol should appear (similar to a USB flash drive).
- **Replace "DIAGNOSE" Folder:** Open the new drive. Locate the "DIAGNOSE" folder on the device. Replace this folder with the downloaded "DIAGNOSE" upgrade folder.
- **Restart Device:** Disconnect the device safely from the computer and power it on again. The updated software will now be active.

Recent updates include extended coverage for Yamaha, Suzuki, Piaggio, Aprilia, and Vespa brands up to 2023, optimization of K-line link maintenance, correction of data stream for SYM models, and correction of ECU Reset function for Honda 72 system.
Troubleshooting
- **Device not powering on:** Ensure the diagnostic cable is securely connected to both the M3 tool and the motorcycle's diagnostic port. Verify the motorcycle's ignition is turned on.
- **Incompatible connector:** If the provided connector does not fit your motorcycle, ensure you have selected the correct M3 package for your motorcycle's make and model. Contact customer service with your motorcycle's model and production year for assistance.
- **Unable to clear maintenance light/reset service functions:** Some specific service functions, like resetting oil change maintenance lights, may require specific procedures or may not be supported on all models. Refer to the device's help menu or contact technical support if you encounter difficulties.
- **Software issues/errors:** Perform a software upgrade as described in the Maintenance section. If issues persist, contact technical support.
