4. Setup and Programming

The SMG-002 remote control uses a face-to-face cloning method. Follow these steps carefully to program your new remote:

Step 1: Clear the History Code from the Duplicator

  1. Press and hold buttons A and B simultaneously on the new remote control until the LED flashes three times.
  2. While still holding button A, release button B. Then, press button B slowly three times. The LED will flash three times again.
  3. Release button A. The history code is now cleared.

Step 2: Copy Code from the Original Transmitter

  1. Place the new remote control (duplicator) and your original remote control side-by-side, as close as possible.
  2. Press and hold button A on your original transmitter. Simultaneously, press and hold button A on the new remote control until its LED flashes.
  3. Release both buttons. The code for button A is now copied.
  4. Repeat the process for other buttons (B, C, D) if desired, using the corresponding buttons on both the original and new remotes.

6. Maintenance

Battery Replacement

The remote control uses a 12V 27A battery. When the remote's range decreases significantly or the LED indicator becomes dim, it's time to replace the battery. To replace:

  1. Carefully open the remote control casing (usually by unscrewing small screws on the back or prying gently along the seam).
  2. Remove the old 12V 27A battery.
  3. Insert a new 12V 27A battery, ensuring correct polarity.
  4. Close the casing securely.

Cleaning

Wipe the remote control with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the device in water.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Remote not responding after programming: Ensure the original remote uses a fixed code and operates at 433.92MHz. This duplicator is not compatible with rolling code systems.
  • LED does not flash during programming: Make sure you are pressing the buttons correctly and continuously as described in the programming steps. The battery might also be low; try replacing it.
  • Cloning fails repeatedly: Try clearing the history code again (Step 1) and then repeat the cloning process (Step 2). Ensure the original and new remotes are as close as possible during cloning. Sometimes, adjusting the angle or distance slightly can help.
  • Reduced operating range: This typically indicates a low battery. Replace the 12V 27A battery.

8. User Tips

  • Always perform the cloning process in a quiet environment to minimize potential signal interference.
  • If you have multiple fixed code remotes to clone, it's often best to clear the duplicator's history before cloning each new original remote.
  • Keep your original remote control in a safe place.
