1. Introduction
This manual provides detailed instructions for the safe and effective use of your BSIDE Intelligent EMF Multimeter. This series includes models S20, A10, and A1, each offering a range of electrical measurement and detection capabilities. Please read this manual thoroughly before operation and keep it for future reference.
The BSIDE Intelligent EMF Multimeter series are versatile tools designed for professionals and household use, capable of measuring AC/DC voltage, resistance, capacitance, frequency, diode, continuity, and live wire detection. The S20 model also features an Electromagnetic Field (EMF) Radiation Detector.

2. Safety Information
To ensure safe operation, please observe the following precautions:
- Do not input voltages higher than the specified maximum for each model (e.g., 500V for A1, 620V for S20/A10). Exceeding these limits may damage the meter and pose a safety risk.
- When measuring high voltage, exercise extreme caution to avoid electric shock. Always ensure proper insulation and personal protective equipment.
- Disconnect the test leads from the circuit immediately after completing any measurement.
- Ensure the meter is in the correct measurement mode before connecting to a circuit.
- Do not use the meter if it appears damaged or if the test leads are compromised.
- Keep the device away from water and extreme temperatures.

5. Setup
5.1 Battery Installation/Charging
- Models S20 & A10: These models feature a built-in 800mAh rechargeable Li-ion battery. To charge, connect the provided Type-C charging cable to the multimeter and a USB power source. The battery indicator on the display will show charging status.

- Model A1: This model requires 2 x 1.5V AAA batteries (not included). To install or replace batteries, unscrew the bottom screw, slide off the lower case, and insert new AAA batteries according to the polarity markings.

5.2 Test Lead Connection
For all models, insert the red test lead into the "INPUT" terminal and the black test lead into the "COM" (Common) terminal. Ensure a secure connection before performing any measurements.
6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Power On/Off
Press the Power button to turn the multimeter ON. The device will automatically enter Auto Measurement Mode (for S20/A10/A1) or the last used mode. To turn OFF, press and hold the Power button. The device also features an auto power-off function, typically after 5 minutes of inactivity, to conserve battery.
6.2 Auto Measurement Mode
In Auto Mode, the multimeter automatically identifies and measures AC/DC voltage and resistance. Simply connect the test leads to the circuit, and the meter will display the appropriate reading.
6.3 Specific Measurement Functions
Depending on your model, you can perform various measurements:
- DC Voltage Measurement: Connect the test leads across the DC voltage source. The display will show the DC voltage.

- AC Voltage Measurement: Connect the test leads across the AC voltage source. The display will show the AC voltage and frequency.

- Resistance Measurement: Connect the test leads across the component to measure its resistance.

- Capacitance Measurement: Connect the test leads across the capacitor. Ensure the capacitor is discharged before testing.

- Frequency/Duty Cycle Measurement: Connect the test leads to the signal source. The display will show the frequency and/or duty cycle.

- Diode Test: Connect the red lead to the anode and the black lead to the cathode of the diode. The forward voltage drop will be displayed.

- Continuity Test: Connect the test leads across the circuit or component. A buzzer will sound if continuity is detected (resistance below a certain threshold, e.g., 30Ω for S20).

- Live Wire Check (S20, A10, A1): Insert the red test probe into the socket jack. If the screen displays 'LIVE', the signal indicator lights up, and the buzzer sounds, indicating a live wire. The A1 model can distinguish live/neutral wires by comparing detected voltage strength.

- NCV (Non-Contact Voltage) Test (A10, A1): Use the top induction area to detect AC voltage without direct contact. The meter will indicate voltage presence with visual and audible alerts.

- EMF Detection (S20 only): The S20 model features a top induction area to identify high-frequency electromagnetic radiation. An icon and a 3-color analog bargraph will be displayed, and a buzzer will sound when EMF radiation is detected.

- Flashlight: Most models include a built-in LED flashlight for illuminating dark work areas.

8. Maintenance
8.1 Cleaning
Wipe the meter with a dry, soft cloth. Do not use abrasives or solvents. Ensure the device is powered off and disconnected from any circuits before cleaning.
8.2 Storage
When not in use for extended periods, store the multimeter in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. For Model A1, remove the AAA batteries if storing for a long time to prevent leakage. For S20 and A10, ensure the built-in battery is charged periodically to maintain its health.
Utilize the provided protective sleeve and storage pouch (for S20 and A10) to protect the device from shocks, friction, and bumps.

9. Troubleshooting
- No Display/Power On: Check battery level (for S20/A10, ensure it's charged; for A1, replace AAA batteries). Ensure the power button is pressed correctly.
- Incorrect Readings: Verify that the test leads are properly connected and that the meter is in the correct measurement mode. Ensure the component being tested is isolated from power if necessary.
- Over-range Display ("OL"): The measured value exceeds the meter's range. Select a higher range if available, or note that the value is beyond the device's capability.
- Buzzer Not Sounding for Continuity: Ensure the resistance is below the threshold (e.g., 30Ω for S20) for the buzzer to activate.
- EMF Detection Not Working (S20): Ensure the meter is held correctly with the top induction area facing the source of electromagnetic radiation.
Important Safety Notes:
- Do not attempt to repair the multimeter yourself. Refer to qualified service personnel.
- Always adhere to the maximum input voltage ratings to prevent damage to the meter and potential injury.
- When working with electrical circuits, always prioritize safety.
10. User Tips
- Versatile Functionality: These multimeters are designed for accurate measurement of capacitance, resistance, and voltage, offering convenience with their compact size and digital displays.
- Capacitor Measurement: The S20 model can measure capacitors from 0.5μF up to 6000μF, while the A10 handles 1nF to 60mF. Always discharge capacitors before testing.
- Compact and Portable: The compact design of all models makes them easy to carry for on-the-go electrical work.
- Clear Display: The EBTN color LCD (S20/A10) and LCD (A1) displays are designed for clear readability, even in varying light conditions.
