5.3. Disconnect Cables & Remove LCD Panel
- Unplug the LVDS cable, power connectors, and backlight plugs.
- Carefully lift the LCD panel with two hands and place it face-up on a soft, clean surface to prevent damage.
5.4. Remove Optical Films & Light Guide Plate
- Carefully remove the optical films (diffuser, brightness enhancement films) and the light guide plate.
- Keep the films in their original order. It is crucial to maintain their orientation. Mark the corners if necessary to avoid reversal during reassembly.
- Avoid touching the surfaces of the films to prevent fingerprints or smudges.
5.5. Remove Old LED Strips
- Locate the old LED strips. These are typically found along the edges (edge-lit) or on the back plate (direct-lit).
- Peel off any old adhesive and disconnect the connectors.
- Clean the mounting area thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol to ensure proper adhesion for the new strips.
5.6. Install New LED Strips
- Attach new thermal double-sided tape to the back of the new LED strips if not already present.
- Align the new LED strips to their original position and press firmly to secure them.
- Connect the plugs with the correct polarity (+/-). Refer to your photos taken during disassembly.
5.7. Pre-Test Before Assembly

- Check that all LEDs light evenly, with no flicker or dark spots.
- Immediately unplug the TV after the test.
5.8. Reassemble in Reverse Order
- Install the light guide plate.
- Lay the optical films back in their original order and orientation.
- Place the LCD panel back into position and reconnect all cables.

6. Operating Instructions
Once installed, the LED backlight strips operate automatically with your TV. Simply power on your television as usual. The new backlight will provide illumination for your display.
7. Maintenance
LED backlight strips generally require no maintenance after installation. To ensure longevity:
- Avoid exposing the TV to extreme temperatures or humidity.
- Keep the TV's ventilation clear to prevent overheating, which can degrade LED performance.
- If cleaning the TV screen or casing, ensure the TV is unplugged and use appropriate cleaning solutions and soft cloths.
8. Troubleshooting
Common Issues and Solutions:
- No backlight or partial backlight:
- Check all cable connections, especially the backlight plugs, to ensure they are securely seated and correctly oriented.
- Verify that the new LED strips are compatible with your TV model.
- Ensure the polarity (+/-) of the connectors is correct.
- Uneven lighting, dark spots, or flickering:
- This could indicate a faulty LED strip or improper installation. Re-check the strips for any physical damage or loose connections.
- Ensure the optical films and light guide plate are correctly positioned and clean.
- TV not powering on after reassembly:
- Double-check all internal cable connections, including the LVDS cable and power connectors.
- Ensure no components were accidentally dislodged or damaged during the installation process.
If issues persist after troubleshooting, it is recommended to consult a professional TV repair technician.
9. User Tips
- Verify Compatibility: Before purchasing or installing, always confirm that the LED backlight strips are specifically designed for your TV's exact model number. Even TVs of the same brand and size can use different backlight configurations.
- Gentle Handling: TV panels and internal components are fragile. Handle them with extreme care to avoid cracks or damage.
- Organize Screws: Use a magnetic mat or small containers to keep track of screws during disassembly. This helps ensure all screws are returned to their correct locations.
- Cleanliness: Work in a clean, dust-free environment to prevent particles from getting trapped between the optical layers, which can cause visible spots on the screen.
