1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the LoraTap Smart Curtain/Blinds Switch. This device allows you to control your electrical roller shutters, blinds, or curtains through multiple methods: direct touch, a dedicated RF remote control, a smartphone application (Tuya Smart or Smart Life), and voice commands via smart assistants like Amazon Alexa and Google Home. This manual provides detailed instructions for installation, setup, operation, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance and safety.

2. Important Safety Information

WARNING: Electrical installation should only be performed by a qualified electrician. Ensure power is disconnected at the circuit breaker before beginning any wiring.

  • This device is designed for use with 4-wire AC motors (Blue Wire, Brown Wire, Black Wire, Green/Yellow Wire). It is NOT compatible with DC motors.
  • Input Voltage: 100-250 VAC, 50/60Hz. Output Voltage (Motor Voltage): 100-250 VAC, 50/60Hz.
  • Max Load: Below 600W.
  • Do not expose the device to moisture or extreme temperatures.
  • Ensure all wiring connections are secure and properly insulated.

5. Installation

Before installation, ensure the main power supply is turned off at the circuit breaker to prevent electrical shock.

5.1 Wiring Diagram

The LoraTap Smart Curtain Switch requires a Neutral Wire, L1, L2, and Earth Wire connections. Refer to the diagram below for proper wiring.

5.2 Physical Installation

The switch is designed to fit standard US and Italian junction boxes. Ensure your existing junction box is compatible with the dimensions shown below.

  1. Turn off the main power supply at your circuit breaker.
  2. Remove your old switch (if any).
  3. Connect the wires to the LoraTap Smart Curtain Switch according to the wiring diagram (Figure 3).
  4. Mount the switch into the wall box using the provided screws.
  5. Attach the glass touch panel.
  6. Restore power at the circuit breaker.

6. Setup

6.1 App Download and Wi-Fi Pairing

  1. Download the 'Smart Life' or 'Tuya Smart' app from your smartphone's app store (available for iOS and Android).
  2. Register or log in to your account.
  3. In the app, tap '+' to add a new device.
  4. Follow the in-app instructions to connect the switch to your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. (Note: 5GHz Wi-Fi is not supported).
  5. During the Wi-Fi connection process, the LED on the 'Open' button will be on, indicating it's ready for connection. It will turn off once successfully added to the app.

6.2 RF Remote Pairing

The included RF remote control is pre-paired with the switch. If you need to re-pair or pair additional remotes:

  1. Ensure the switch is powered on.
  2. Refer to the detailed instructions in the provided user guide for specific pairing steps.
  3. The RF remote has a control range of up to 30 meters.

7. Operation

7.1 Touch Control

The glass touch panel features three buttons: Open, Pause, and Close. Simply touch the corresponding button to operate your curtains or blinds.

7.2 App Control

Using the Smart Life or Tuya Smart app, you can control your curtains from anywhere with an internet connection (2G, 3G, 4G, or Wi-Fi).

7.3 RF Remote Control

The 3-button RF remote allows for convenient control of your curtains without needing your phone or voice commands. It can control multiple switches (up to 10) for group control.

8. Advanced Features

8.1 Running Time Setting

You can set the switch operation time range from 10 to 120 seconds within the app. This feature is useful for adjusting the full open/close duration based on your shutter's height, eliminating the need for multiple presses.

8.2 Timing Function (Schedules)

Program your smart curtain switch to open or close at specific times using the app's scheduling feature. For example, set your curtains to open at 7:00 AM and close at 7:00 PM daily.

8.3 Group Function and Device Sharing

Create groups within the app to manage multiple curtain switches simultaneously. You can also share control of your devices with family members, allowing everyone in the household to operate the smart curtains.

8.4 No LED Always On

The switch panel is designed without an always-on LED light to avoid disturbing your sleep. The LED on the 'Open' button only illuminates during the initial Wi-Fi connection setup and turns off once connected.

9. User Tips

  • Wi-Fi Connection Indicator: If you are having trouble connecting to Wi-Fi, note that the LED on the 'Open' button will be on to indicate it's in pairing mode. It will turn off once successfully connected to the app.
  • Motor Compatibility: Always double-check that your motor is a 4-wire AC motor before purchasing or installing to ensure compatibility.
  • RF Remote Flexibility: You can purchase additional single, 2-channel, or 4-channel RF remotes and pair them flexibly with your RF & WiFi Roller Shutter Switch for expanded control options.

10. Troubleshooting

  • Switch not responding: Check if the main power supply is on. Ensure all wiring connections are secure.
  • App connection issues: Verify your Wi-Fi network is 2.4GHz. Restart your router and the switch, then try pairing again. Ensure your phone is close to the switch during pairing.
  • RF remote not working: Check the CR2032 coin battery in the remote. Re-pair the remote with the switch if necessary (refer to the detailed user guide).
  • Curtain motor not moving: Confirm your motor is a 4-wire AC motor. Check the motor's power supply and connections to the switch.
