1. Introduction

1.1 Product Profile

The ANCEL MT700 is a new Android-based vehicle trouble diagnostic device developed for Internet applications. It is designed to cover a wide range of vehicles, offer powerful functions, and provide precise results. Utilizing a vehicle diagnostic OBD connector and mobile intelligent terminals, it performs vehicle trouble diagnosis for full car models and full system vehicles.

Leveraging mobile Internet capabilities, the device integrates additional applications and services such as a Maintenance Database, remote assistance, and One-Key Upgrade functionality.

1.2 Key Features

  • Diagnostic Function: Diagnoses electronic control systems of various vehicle models (Asian, American, European). Functions include reading DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes), clearing DTCs, reading live data streams, and special functions.
  • Classification Functions: Includes Moto Diag and Service options.
  • User-Friendly Interface: Specifically designed for the Android platform, featuring a simple and intuitive interface for easy operation.
  • Personal Center: Manages user information and device configuration.

2. Setup Instructions

2.1 Package Contents

The MT700 package typically includes the following items:

The package includes the MT700 Tablet PC, a User's Manual, a Quick Start Guide/Certificate, a Power Cable, and various diagnostic cables (M002, M005, M012, M015A, M019, M022, M037, M040, M042, M043, M006, M034, M018A, M041) for different motorcycle brands.

2.2 Device Overview

The device consists of a tablet computer, a main test cable, and various other connection cables.

The tablet features a 7-inch LCD screen. The top hardware and interface include:

2.3 Charging the Device

  1. Connect the included USB cable with the charger.
  2. Plug the charger into an AC outlet.
  3. When connected, the battery logo will indicate charging.
  4. Once the battery logo changes to a solid icon, the battery is fully charged.
  5. Unplug the USB cable from the charger and the device.

2.4 Using the Battery

  • If the battery is unused for a long time or completely discharged, it may not turn on immediately when charging. Charge it for a period before attempting to turn it on.
  • Using data services will increase power consumption and shorten standby time.
  • Charging time varies with temperature and battery consumption.
  • A beep will sound when the battery is low. The device will automatically switch off if the battery level is very low.

2.5 Power On/Off

  • Power On: Press and hold the Power button for three seconds.
  • Power Off: Press and hold the Power button for three seconds.

2.6 Connecting the VCI Connector

  1. Locate Diagnostic Socket: The diagnostic socket location varies by motorcycle model. Use the corresponding model adapter. Refer to the diagnostic bitmap in the software data for approximate locations.
  2. Plug in Connector: Plug the diagnostic connector of the device into the motorcycle's diagnostic socket.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Desktop Overview

The desktop features several icons for navigation and functions:

3.2 Customize Your Desktop

  • Add Items: On the main menu, long-press the desired item. The system will automatically enter the desktop and place the icon. You can drag it to other extended desktops if needed.
  • Move Items: Long-press an item. Once a movable circle appears, drag it to the target location.
  • Delete Items: Long-press an item. When "Delete" appears at the top-middle of the screen, drag the item to it. Release when the item and icon turn red.
  • Change Wallpaper: Long-press a blank area on the desktop. A pop-up wallpaper selection will appear. Choose your desired wallpaper and confirm.
  • Create a Folder: Drag one icon onto another. The system will create a folder, which you can then name.

3.3 Using the Touch Screen

  • Tap: Tap a corresponding item to confirm selection or start an application.
  • Long Press: Long-press an icon or input field to open the operation option menu.
  • Slide: Slide your finger horizontally or vertically to navigate the screen.
  • Drag: Long-press a selected item and drag it to any position on the screen.

3.4 Lock & Unlock Screen

  • Lock: Press the POWER key when the device is ON. The screen will also lock automatically after a period of inactivity.
  • Unlock: Press the POWER key to activate the screen, then drag the lock icon to the "Unlock position."

3.5 Notification Bar

The notification bar displays activities and messages. Slide down from the status bar to open it. Tap a notification to open it. Tap outside the notification panel to retract it.

3.6 Input Method

To set the input method, go to "Settings" > "Personal" > "Language & input". The device supports a powerful thesaurus engine and multiple keyboard modes.

3.7 Airplane Mode

To enable or disable airplane mode:

  • Press the POWER key and choose "Airplane mode" from the pop-up menu.
  • Alternatively, access the main menu, and choose "Settings" > "WLAN" > "More" > "Airplane mode".

3.8 Diagnostic Software Main Interface

The main interface provides access to the following functions:

3.9 Start Diagnosing

Click "Moto Diag" on the main interface to access the function and model selection interface. The "All" menu path is selected by default. The software provided may vary based on product configuration.

Adding/Deleting Favorites:

  • To add a vehicle series to Favorites, select "Favorites", click the plus sign, tick the square next to the vehicle logo, and confirm.
  • To delete a vehicle series from Favorites, click the minus sign, tick the checkbox next to the vehicle logo, and select "Delete".

OBD-II Diagnosis Example:

To start a diagnosis, click the "OBD-II Engine" icon under special functions and select the software version. Then, you can access the diagnostic function menu, which includes:

  • AUTO SCAN: Automatically scans the vehicle.
  • Read Codes: Retrieves stored Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).
  • Erase Codes: Clears DTCs from the vehicle's system.
  • Live Data: Displays real-time data streams from various sensors.
  • Freeze Frame: Shows a snapshot of data at the moment a DTC was set.
  • Vehicle Information: Provides details about the vehicle's ECU.
  • Component Test: Allows testing of specific vehicle components.

3.10 Data Management

The Data Management section allows you to organize and review diagnostic data:

  • File Management: View related information in files.
  • Data Playback: Records and plays back dynamic data streams, useful for comparing data and identifying abnormal readings.
  • Uninstall Model: Uninstall specific vehicle models from the device.
  • Workshop: Set and manage shop information.
  • Picture Viewer: Browse pictures saved on the device.

3.11 Support Functions

The Support section provides resources for assistance:

  • Video: Access operation videos for diagnostic functions.
  • Manual: View the product instruction manual, covering basic information, diagnostic instructions, upgrades, and other applications.
  • FAQ: Find answers to common problems encountered during product use.
  • Log Upload: Manually upload log files generated during diagnostic abnormalities for feedback.
  • TeamViewer: Use this application for remote assistance from technical engineers or colleagues.

3.12 Settings

The Settings menu allows you to configure various aspects of the device:

  • VCI Info: View information about the VCI (Vehicle Communication Interface).
  • Language: Change the system language (English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Russian, Polish, Portuguese are supported).
  • Unit: Set measurement units.
  • Network Test: Test network connectivity.
  • Clear Cache: Clear temporary data to free up space.
  • About: Display software version updates and product announcements.

3.13 Other Functions

The device includes additional standard Android functions:

  • Wi-Fi: Turn on/off Wi-Fi and connect to WLAN networks.
  • Browser: Access the internet, open web pages, manage bookmarks.
  • Gallery: Manage pictures and video files.
  • Music: Play music files.
  • Calculator: Perform basic and scientific calculations.
  • Calendar: View calendar and create to-do lists.
  • Clock: Set alarms, use timer and stopwatch.
  • ES File Explorer: Manage files on the SD card and device storage.
  • Display: Adjust brightness and auto-rotate screen settings.
  • Applications: View installed and running applications, uninstall apps.
  • Language & Input: Configure language and input methods.
  • Date & Time: Set date and time.
  • Restore to Factory Settings: Reset the device to its default factory settings (all data will be deleted).
  • Storage: Check device storage conditions.
  • App Installation/Uninstallation: Install applications from SD card or uninstall existing apps.

4. Maintenance

4.1 Device Care

  • Keep the device and its accessories dry. Do not use a microwave oven or other external heating equipment to dry it.
  • Avoid strong shocks or vibrations to prevent damage.
  • Do not expose the unit or its accessories to excessively high or low temperatures. Operating temperature: -10℃ to 55℃ (14℉ to 131℉). Storage temperature: -20℃ to 70℃ (-4℉ to 158℉).
  • Do not use potent chemicals, cleaning agents, or strong detergents. Turn off and disconnect the charger before cleaning.
  • Do not disassemble the device.

4.2 Clear Cache

To clear the device cache, navigate to Settings > Clear Cache. This will clear temporary data while retaining user name, password, and favorite information.

5. Troubleshooting (FAQ)

5.1 Startup Failure

If the device fails to start, connect it to the included DC power supply. If the battery is too low, it may take a few minutes to power on. If the device still doesn't power on, contact customer service. Ensure the operating environment temperature is within the specified range (-10Β°C to 55Β°C).

5.2 Touchscreen Interference

If the touchscreen is abnormal, disconnect power or restart the device. If the issue persists, contact customer service.

5.3 Slow or Failed One-Key Upgrade

Check your Wi-Fi connection and signal strength. If the problem persists, verify if your upgrade period has expired. Contact customer service if needed.

5.4 Crash

If the device crashes, long-press the power button for more than five seconds to power off, then restart.

5.5 Test Failure

If a test fails, first exclude software problems by re-upgrading the latest software. If the issue remains, offer feedback or exclude vehicle-specific problems. If permitted, replace the main wire with the same type. Confirm the device problem and send it back for repair with the main wire.

5.6 Unable to Charge

Check if the charger provides 12V output. If not, replace the charger. If charging issues persist, contact customer service.

5.7 Software Upgrade

From the DP interface, navigate to Personal Center > Login > Upgrade app. Tick the software to be upgraded and select batch upgrade. Detailed steps are available in the Support app > Product instruction > Diagnosis instruction and upgrade section.

5.8 Software Delete

Method 1: Go to DP > Data Management > Uninstall vehicle models. Tick the model to be uninstalled and click the delete mark in the upper right corner. (Refer to product instruction/diagnosis instruction for details).

Method 2: Enter the DP interface, click the vehicle logo, go to the software version page, long-press until a prompt appears, and then select delete.

5.9 System Language Switch

From the multi-function icon on the desktop, select Settings > Language & input > Language, then choose the desired language.

7. Warranty & Support

7.1 Warranty Information

The product comes with a one-year warranty from the date of delivery, covering defects in materials or workmanship. This warranty is applicable to users and distributors who purchase ANCEL products through normal procedures. Damage resulting from abuse, unauthorized modification, use for purposes not designed for the product, or operation not in accordance with the manual instructions is not covered.

7.2 Customer Service Center

If you encounter any problems, please contact your authorized supplier. For repairs, send the device to OBDSPACE Technology Co., Ltd. with your purchase invoice and problem description. In-warranty repairs are free; out-of-warranty repairs will incur charges for maintenance and return freight.

7.3 Remote Technical Support

The device supports remote assistance via TeamViewer software. This allows ANCEL technical engineers, colleagues, or friends to control your tablet device from their PC to provide support.
