1. Introduction
The GVDA GD107 Digital Pen Type Multimeter is an intelligent, true RMS digital multimeter designed for various electrical measurements. Its compact, pen-type design makes it portable and easy to handle for both professionals and hobbyists. This manual provides essential information for safe and effective use of the device.

Safety Statement
The meter conforms to IEC61010-1 CAT.III600V overvoltage safety standard and pollution level 2.
Caution:
- Operation that may cause damage to the meter.
Warning:
- Operation that may cause danger to users.
- To avoid possible electric shock or personal injury, observe the following specifications:
- Read this manual carefully and pay special attention to safety warning information before using the meter.
- Operate the meter according to the manual, otherwise the protection function provided by the instrument may be damaged or weakened.
- Take special care when measuring values that exceed 60VDC, 30VAC RMS, or 42V. This kind of voltage has the danger of electric shock.
- Do not measure voltage higher than the rated value between terminals or between terminals and ground.
- Measure a known voltage to check whether the meter works normally. If it is not normal or damaged, do not use it again.
- Before using the meter, check whether there are cracks or damaged plastic parts in the instrument shell. If so, do not use it again.
- Before using the meter, check whether the probe is cracked or damaged. If so, replace the probe with the same model and electrical specification.
- Use the meter according to the measurement category, voltage or current rating specified in the meter or manual.
- Observe local and national safety regulations. Wear personal protective equipment (such as approved rubber gloves, masks and flame retardant clothing, etc.) to prevent injury caused by electric shock and electric arc when dangerous live conductors are exposed.
- When the "a" symbol is displayed on the meter, replace the battery in time to prevent measurement error.
- Do not use the meter in an environment with explosive gas or steam or a humid environment.
- When using the probe, hold your fingers behind the probe finger guard.
- When measuring, connect the null or ground wire first, then the live wire; when disconnected, disconnect the live wire first, and then the null or ground wire.
- Remove the probe from the meter before opening the case or battery cover. Do not use the meter when the meter is disassembled or the battery cover is opened.
- The meter can only be used together with the probe provided to meet the requirements of the safety standard. If the probe is damaged and needs to be replaced, the probe of the same model and electrical specification must be replaced.
2. Setup
2.1. Battery Installation
The GVDA GD107 requires 2 x 1.5V AAA batteries (not included). Follow these steps to install or replace batteries:
- Turn off the multimeter and remove any connected probes.
- Locate the battery cover on the back of the device.
- Unscrew the screw fixing the battery cover and remove the cover.
- Remove old batteries (if any) and insert two new 1.5V AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity.
- Replace the battery cover and secure it with the screw.

2.2. Probe Connection
For most measurements, connect the red probe to the "INPUT" jack and the black probe to the "COM" jack. Ensure connections are firm.

3. Operating Instructions
3.1. Power On/Off
- Press and hold the Power key (
) for approximately 2 seconds to turn the multimeter ON or OFF.
3.2. Gear Selection (Function Key)
- Press the FUNC key to cycle through different measurement modes (gears).
- Press and hold the FUNC key for about 2 seconds to return to the intelligent (AUTO) measurement mode. The meter defaults to AUTO mode upon power-on.
3.3. Smart (AUTO) Measurement
This is the default mode when the meter is powered on. It automatically identifies and measures DC voltage, AC voltage, resistance, and continuity.
- Power on the meter. The display will show "Auto".
- Connect the red probe to "INPUT" and the black probe to "COM".
- Contact the probes with the measured subject. The meter will automatically recognize the signal and display the reading.
- If measuring resistance and the value is less than approximately 50 Ω, the buzzer will sound.

3.4. Specific Measurement Functions
To access specific functions, press the FUNC key until the desired mode is selected.
Frequency Measurement (Hz)
- Select "Hz" gear using the FUNC key.
- Connect probes to the measured subject.
- Read the frequency from the display.
Capacitance Measurement (Cap)
- Select "Cap" gear using the FUNC key.
- Connect probes to both ends of the capacitor.
- Read the capacitance from the display.
Diode Measurement (Diode)
- Select "Diode" gear using the FUNC key.
- Connect the red probe to the anode and the black probe to the cathode of the diode.
- Read the forward bias value. If connected inversely, the display will show "OL".
Live Wire Detecting (LIVE)
- Select "LIVE" gear using the FUNC key.
- Insert the red probe into "INPUT" and remove the black probe.
- Use the red probe to contact the conductor.
- "---L" (weak field) or "---H" (strong field) will be displayed, accompanied by slow or fast beeping and corresponding indicator lights (green for weak, red for strong).

Figure 5: Live Wire Detection Phase Sequence Detection (Phase)
- Select "Phase" gear using the FUNC key.
- The display will show "PA" with the "A" letter flashing. Plug the sensing probe into the first phase line socket and wait for a beep.
- The display will show "PAB" with the "B" letter flashing. Plug the sensing probe into the second phase line socket and wait for a beep.
- The display will show "PABC" with the "C" letter flashing. Plug the sensing probe into the third phase line socket and wait for a long beep.
- At the end of the test, the display will show "P --- L" for left-handed phase sequence or "P --- R" for right-handed phase sequence.
Note: Complete the test on all three wires within 1 minute to avoid a detection timeout error.

3.5. Data Hold
- Press the Hold key (
) to turn data holding ON or OFF. This freezes the current reading on the display.
3.6. Flashlight
- Press and hold the Flashlight key (
) for about 2 seconds to turn the built-in flashlight ON or OFF.

3.7. Auto Power Off
- The auto power off feature is enabled by default when the meter is powered on, indicated by the "a" symbol on the display.
- If no key operation occurs for approximately 15 minutes, the meter will automatically shut down to conserve battery life.
4. Maintenance
4.1. Cleaning
To clean the multimeter:
- Turn off the meter and remove the probes.
- Wipe the case with a damp cloth or mild detergent. Do not use abrasives or solvents.
- Wipe the contacts in each input socket with a clean swab soaked in alcohol.
Warning: Always keep the inside of the meter clean and dry to prevent electric shock or damage to the meter.
4.2. Battery Replacement
Refer to section 2.1 for detailed instructions on battery replacement.
Warning: To avoid electric shock or personal injury caused by wrong reading, replace the battery immediately when the battery is low. Do not discharge the battery by shorting it or reversing its polarity. To operate and maintain the meter safely, take out the battery when it is not used for a long time to prevent battery leakage from damaging the product.
5. Troubleshooting
"OL" Indication
If the display shows "OL" (Over Load), it indicates that the measured value is outside the meter's range for the current setting. Switch to a higher range or check if the measurement is appropriate for the meter's capabilities.
Low Battery Indication
When the "a" symbol is displayed, the battery is low. Replace the batteries promptly to ensure accurate measurements and proper operation.
Phase Sequence Detection Timeout
If the phase sequence detection times out, ensure all three phase wires are tested within 1 minute. If the issue persists, re-enter the phase sequence detection function and try again.
General Measurement Inaccuracies
Ensure probes are correctly connected and making good contact. Verify the correct measurement mode is selected. Check battery level. If issues persist, consult the full user manual.
