1. Introduction
This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient use of your TUXING 4500psi High Pressure Regulator. Please read this manual thoroughly before operating the device and retain it for future reference.
2. Safety Information
WARNING: Failure to follow these safety instructions may result in serious injury or property damage.
- Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling high-pressure equipment.
- Ensure all connections are secure and leak-free before pressurizing the system.
- Do not exceed the maximum rated input pressure of 4500psi.
- Do not modify the regulator or its components. Use only genuine TUXING replacement parts.
- Keep out of reach of children. This product contains small parts which may pose a choking hazard.
- Operate in a well-ventilated area.
- Depressurize the system completely before disconnecting any components or performing maintenance.
- Regularly inspect the regulator for any signs of damage, wear, or corrosion.
3. Product Overview and Components
The TUXING High Pressure Regulator is designed to reduce high-pressure air from a tank to a usable output pressure for various applications. It features a robust design with clear pressure indicators.
Components:
- Input Thread: M18*1.5, 5/8-18UNF, or G1/2-14 (depending on model) for connecting to the high-pressure air tank.
- Output Thread: M18*1.5 for connecting to the device requiring regulated pressure.
- Pressure Gauge: Displays the output pressure.
- Quick Connect: 8mm male quick plug for easy attachment/detachment.
- Burst Disks: Safety features (3K and 7.5K psi) designed to rupture and release pressure if the system exceeds safe limits.
- Double O-rings: Ensure a secure and leak-proof seal.
4. Setup Instructions
- Inspect Components: Before each use, visually inspect the regulator, O-rings, threads, and quick connect for any signs of damage, wear, or debris. Ensure the burst disks are intact.
- Prepare Air Tank: Ensure your high-pressure air tank is filled to a safe level and its valve is closed.
- Connect Regulator to Air Tank:
- Carefully thread the input side of the regulator (M18*1.5, 5/8-18UNF, or G1/2-14) onto the air tank valve.
- Hand-tighten first, then use an appropriate wrench to secure it firmly. Do not overtighten.
- Ensure the double O-rings are properly seated to prevent leaks.
- Connect Output Device:
- Connect your device (e.g., HPA system) to the output thread (M18*1.5) or the 8mm male quick plug on the regulator.
- Ensure this connection is also secure.
- Initial Pressure Check: Before fully opening the tank valve, slightly open it and listen for any hissing sounds indicating a leak. If a leak is detected, immediately close the tank valve and re-check all connections.
5. Operating Instructions
- Open Air Tank Valve: Once all connections are secure and leak-free, slowly open the air tank valve.
- Monitor Pressure Gauge: Observe the pressure gauge on the regulator. It will display the output pressure. The regulator is pre-set to one of the available output pressures (800psi, 1800psi, or 2200psi) depending on your model.
- Use the Device: You can now operate your connected device at the regulated pressure.
- Close Air Tank Valve: When finished, close the air tank valve completely.
- Depressurize System: Before disconnecting, operate your connected device briefly to release any remaining pressure in the line between the tank valve and the device. The pressure gauge should drop to zero.
- Disconnect Components: Once the system is fully depressurized, you can safely disconnect the output device and then the regulator from the air tank.
6. Maintenance
- Regular Inspection: Periodically inspect the regulator for any physical damage, cracks, or corrosion.
- O-ring Replacement: The O-rings are critical for sealing. Inspect them regularly for wear, cuts, or flattening. Replace them if they show any signs of degradation. Use only compatible O-rings.
- Cleaning: Clean the exterior of the regulator with a damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive materials. Ensure no moisture enters the internal components.
- Storage: Store the regulator in a clean, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Ensure it is depressurized before storage.
7. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Air Leak | Loose connections, damaged O-rings, debris in threads. | Tighten all connections. Inspect and replace O-rings if necessary. Clean threads. |
| No Output Pressure | Air tank valve closed, empty air tank, internal regulator malfunction. | Ensure tank valve is open. Check tank pressure. If tank is full and valve is open, contact support. |
| Incorrect Output Pressure | Regulator malfunction. | Do not attempt to adjust internal components. Contact support. |
| Burst Disk Ruptured | Over-pressurization, faulty disk. | Immediately depressurize the system. Replace the burst disk with an identical rating. Investigate cause of over-pressurization. |
