  • Mic Gain Knob (MIC +/-): Rotate this knob to adjust the sensitivity of the microphone, controlling how loud your voice is picked up. Adjust to prevent clipping or ensure sufficient volume.

  • Monitor Knob (Headphone Icon +/-): If you have headphones connected, this knob controls the volume of the audio you hear through your headphones for real-time monitoring.

  • Echo Knob (ECHO +/-): This knob adjusts the echo effect applied to your voice. Turn it up for a more reverberant sound, or down for a drier, more direct sound.

4.1. Software Configuration

After connecting the microphone to your computer, ensure it is selected as the default input device in your operating system's sound settings and in any recording or communication software you are using (e.g., OBS, Discord, Zoom, Skype, YouTube, Twitch).

5. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the microphone and boom arm. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.

  • Storage: When not in use, store the microphone in a clean, dry place away from extreme temperatures and humidity.

  • Cable Care: Avoid bending or crimping the USB cable excessively to prevent damage.

6. Troubleshooting

  • No Sound Output/Input:

    • Ensure the USB cable is securely connected to both the microphone and your device.
    • Check your device's sound settings to confirm the HAOMUREN K66S is selected as the input (microphone) and output (for monitoring) device.
    • Verify the microphone is not muted (blue indicator light should be on).
    • Adjust the Mic Gain and Monitor volume knobs on the microphone.
    • Try a different USB port or cable if available.
  • Poor Sound Quality/Noise:

    • Ensure the microphone is positioned correctly, facing the sound source directly (cardioid pattern).
    • Check for environmental noise and try to minimize it.
    • Adjust the Mic Gain knob to avoid distortion (too high) or low volume (too low).
    • The microphone features a noise-canceling DSP chip; ensure it's functioning correctly.
    • Use the included foam windscreen to reduce plosives and breath noise.
  • Boom Arm Stability Issues:

    • Ensure the desk clamp is tightly secured to a stable surface.
    • Verify the boom arm is properly inserted into the clamp.
    • The boom arm offers 360° rotation and adjustable horizontal/vertical distance for optimal positioning.
  • Compatibility with Xbox:

    • The product description mentions compatibility with PS4 & PS5. While it may work with Xbox for audio input, direct plug-and-play functionality for all features might not be guaranteed without specific Xbox drivers or adapters. Consult Xbox support or online forums for specific setup instructions if issues arise.

8. User Tips

  • Optimal Placement: Due to its cardioid pickup pattern, position the microphone directly in front of your mouth or sound source to capture the clearest audio and minimize background noise.

  • Gain Staging: Experiment with the Mic Gain knob to find the sweet spot where your audio is loud enough without distorting. It's generally better to record at a slightly lower gain and boost in post-production than to record with clipping.

  • Zero-Latency Monitoring: Utilize the 3.5mm headphone jack for real-time monitoring to hear exactly what the microphone is picking up without any delay, which is crucial for recording and live performances.

  • Boom Arm Flexibility: Take advantage of the 360° rotating and adjustable boom arm to position the microphone precisely where you need it, ensuring comfort and optimal sound capture during long sessions.
