2. Package Contents

3. Setup
3.1 Initial Power On
- Connect the provided charging adapter to the K7 tablet and a power outlet.
- Press and hold the power button until the KINGBOLEN logo appears.
- The device will boot up, displaying "Android 10.0".

3.2 Language Selection
The KINGBOLEN K7 supports 17 languages. To change the language:
- From the main menu, tap on "Settings".
- Scroll down and select "Language".
- Choose your preferred language from the list (e.g., English, French, Spanish, German, Russian, Korean, Japanese, Portuguese, Italian, Polish, Hungarian, Persian, Greek, Slovak, Dutch, Swedish, Arabic, Traditional Chinese).
3.3 Wi-Fi Connection
A stable Wi-Fi connection is essential for software updates and online features.
- From the main menu, tap on "Settings".
- Select "Wi-Fi".
- Turn on Wi-Fi and select your desired network.
- Enter the password if prompted and connect.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Connecting to Vehicle
- Locate the vehicle's OBD-II port (usually under the dashboard).
- Plug the provided dongle (Bluetooth Plug) into the vehicle's OBD-II port.
- Ensure the vehicle's ignition is in the ON position (engine can be off or running, depending on the test).
- On the K7 tablet, ensure Bluetooth is enabled and connected to the dongle.
4.2 Diagnostic Functions
The K7 offers a wide range of diagnostic capabilities:
- AutoVIN Scan: Automatically identifies vehicle information (VIN, Make, Model, Year, Engine) for quick diagnostics. Tap "Diagnose" then "Autosearch".
- Manual Search: If AutoVIN fails or for specific vehicle selection, manually select vehicle details.
- Read Fault Codes (DTCs): Displays detailed descriptions of Diagnostic Trouble Codes to identify fault locations.
- Clear Fault Codes: Erases DTCs and turns off the Check Engine Light (MIL) after repairs.
- Retrieve ECU Information: Accesses and displays vehicle ECU information.
- Graph Live Data Stream: View dynamic data streams from the vehicle's ECU/PCM in real-time, often with graphical plotting for easier analysis. The K7 supports up to 4 data streams simultaneously.
- I/M Readiness Status: Checks if emission-related systems are operating correctly and ready for inspection.
- View Freeze Frame Data: Records vehicle conditions at the moment an emission-related fault occurs.
- O2 Sensor Test: Retrieves and displays O2 sensor monitor test results.
- On-Board Monitor Test: Displays test results for emission-related powertrain components.
- Component Test: Actuates specific vehicle components via commands from the scanner to test their functionality.

4.3 ECU Coding
ECU Coding allows you to customize vehicle settings, activate hidden features, or disable annoying functions. It is also used to initialize, match, relearn, or code newly replaced ECUs/modules.
- Customize Vehicle: Change preprogrammed options like setting alarms or door locking behavior.
- Activate/Disable Features: Enable auto side mirror folding or disable automatic engine Start-Stop.
- Reprogram Adaptive Data: Adjust components after repairs or replacements.
- Note: ECU Coding is not universally compatible and varies by vehicle. The KINGBOLEN K7 does NOT support OE ECU Programming.

4.4 Bi-directional Control (Active Test)
This function allows the tester to send commands to the vehicle's ECU to actuate solenoids and actuators, testing their working status directly. This helps in quickly locating faulty parts.
- Examples include turning on/off lights, opening/closing windows, activating wipers, testing fuel pumps, and cycling A/C clutches.
- Note: Active tests are NOT universal for all vehicles. Check compatibility with your VIN before purchase.

4.5 Reset Functions (28+)
The K7 provides over 28 common maintenance and reset functions. Please note that specific functions may vary in compatibility across different car models.
- Oil Reset: Resets the oil life system after an oil change.
- Elec. Throttle Adaption: Initializes throttle actuators to their learning values.
- SAS - Steering Angle Reset: Resets the steering angle sensor.
- Battery Matching: Performs resetting operations on the vehicle battery monitoring unit.
- ABS Bleeding: Bleeds the brake system to restore ABS brake sensitivity.
- Brake Reset: Resets the brake pad system after replacement.
- DPF Regeneration: Clears Particulate Matter from the DPF filter.
- Gear Learning: Learns crankshaft gear machining tolerance for accurate engine misfire diagnosis.
- IMMO Service (Key Programming): Performs anti-theft key matching.
- Injector Coding: Writes or rewrites injector codes in the ECU.
- TPMS Reset: Resets tire pressure monitoring system after tire-related maintenance.
- Suspension Matching: Adjusts body height for air suspension systems.
- AFS Reset: Initializes the adaptive headlamp system.

4.6 CANFD and FCA SGW Support
The K7 is compatible with CAN-FD protocol for newer GM vehicles (2020+) and supports FCA SGW (Security Gateway) for 2018+ FCA vehicles (Fiat, Chrysler, Jeep, Alfa Romeo). For FCA SGW access, an account on the FCA website is required.

- Ensure the ECU is equipped with the system you are trying to diagnose.
- Check the ECU fuse and ECU line.
- Confirm the VCI (Vehicle Communication Interface) has not been disconnected and reconnected, or the host device has been restarted.
- Ensure the VCI is related to the ECU and OBD and is not original.
- Verify the vehicle is not equipped with the OBD-related car model.
- Check if the Bus switch is in the ON position.
- Slow performance: Close unnecessary applications running in the background. Clear cached data if needed.
