4. Setup and Installation

4.1 Helmet Compatibility

The MAXTO M2 is designed for universal compatibility with various helmet types, including Full Helmets, Three-quarters Helmets, and Combination Helmets.

4.2 Mounting the Intercom Unit

There are two primary methods for installing the MAXTO M2 unit onto your helmet:

  1. Clamp Fastening Installation: Use the provided clamp and Allen wrench to securely attach the unit to the helmet's edge. Ensure the clamp is tightened firmly to prevent movement.
  2. Powerful Velcro Stick Installation: For helmets where the clamp is not suitable, use the adhesive velcro pads to attach the unit. Clean the helmet surface thoroughly before applying velcro for optimal adhesion.

4.3 Connecting the Headset

  1. Choose the appropriate microphone for your helmet type: the 'Hard' boom mic for open-face helmets or the 'Soft' wired mic for full-face helmets.
  2. Insert the headset plug firmly into the Headset Socket on the main unit.
  3. Position the ear speakers inside the helmet, aligning them with your ears for optimal sound. Use the provided butterfly stickers to secure the speakers if necessary.
  4. Position the microphone close to your mouth, ensuring it is not obstructed by padding or wind.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Power On/Off

  • Power On: Press and hold the On/Off Button until the Indicator Light illuminates.
  • Power Off: Press and hold the On/Off Button until the Indicator Light turns off.

5.2 Bluetooth Pairing (Mobile Phone)

  1. Ensure the M2 unit is powered off.
  2. Press and hold the Multi-function Button until the Indicator Light flashes rapidly, indicating pairing mode.
  3. On your mobile phone, enable Bluetooth and search for available devices.
  4. Select "MAXTO M2" from the list. If prompted, enter the PIN "0000".
  5. Once paired, the Indicator Light will change to a slow flash, and you will hear a voice prompt "Connected".

5.3 Intercom Communication

The MAXTO M2 supports real-time group intercom for up to 6 riders with an operating range of up to 1000 meters between two motorcycles.

5.4 Connecting to Other Bluetooth Headsets

The M2 can connect to any brand of Bluetooth headset for intercom purposes, allowing you to communicate with teammates using different devices.

5.5 Simultaneous Device Connection

One MAXTO M2 unit can connect to three devices simultaneously:

  • A mobile phone, MP3 player, or GPS device.
  • Another MAXTO M2 unit for intercom.
  • Any other Bluetooth headset.

5.6 Connecting to Two Mobile Phones

The M2 allows for wireless connection to two mobile phones, providing flexibility for calls and media from different sources.

5.7 Music Playback and Control

  • Once paired with a mobile phone or MP3 player, music will stream via A2DP.
  • Use the Multi-function Button or Knob to control playback (play, pause, next track, previous track) via AVRCP.

5.8 FM Radio

The M2 features a built-in FM radio. Use the Multi-function Button or Knob to scan for and select radio stations.

5.9 Voice Prompts and Voice Dial

The M2 provides clear voice prompts for various statuses, including power, pairing, intercom connection, and low battery. It also supports voice dialing for hands-free phone calls.

5.10 Connecting to a Two-Way Radio

The M2 can be connected to a two-way radio using an optional control cable (sold separately) for extended communication options.

6. Care and Maintenance

6.1 Charging the Battery

The MAXTO M2 features a built-in rechargeable Li-Polymer battery with an operating time of up to 10 hours and a standby time of up to 200 hours. Charging takes approximately 2.5 hours using the Micro USB cable.
