This manual provides comprehensive instructions for the safe and efficient use of your Elecrow 8-inch Portable Touchscreen Monitor. This monitor features a reliable multi-touch panel with a 16:10 aspect ratio, delivering excellent wide viewing angles and compatibility with various operating systems. Designed for professional and personal applications, it is easy to integrate and suitable for intensive use.
The monitor supports HD 1280x800 resolution and IPS technology for consistent colors across wide viewing angles. It is compact and durable, housed in an aluminum alloy shell, making it ideal for portable setups. It features Mini HDMI-compatible and USB ports for versatile connectivity with devices such as laptops, PCs, Raspberry Pi, Jetson Nano, and game consoles. Built-in speakers enhance the audiovisual experience, and volume/brightness are adjustable. The monitor can be mounted via VESA or used with the included stand.
2. Safety Precautions
Warning & Safety Information:
- Do not use in damp environments to prevent electric shock.
- Avoid strong impacts to prevent screen damage.
- Do not touch the screen surface directly with bare hands to avoid scratches.
- Avoid direct sunlight exposure or high-temperature environments.
- Do not disassemble or repair the unit yourself.
2.1. Electricity and Safety
- Do not use a damaged power cord or plug, or a loose power socket. An electric shock or fire may result.
- Do not touch the power plug with wet hands. An electric shock may result.
- Insert the power plug all the way in so it is not loose. An unsecure connection may cause a fire.
2.2. Installation
- Do not install the product near heat sources. A fire may result.
- Do not set down the product on its front. The screen may become damaged.
- Do not install the product on an unstable or vibrating surface (insecure shelf, sloped surface, etc.). The product may fall and become damaged and/or cause an injury.
- Using the product in an area with excess vibration may damage the product or cause a fire.
2.3. Cleaning
- Power off the product and computer.
- Disconnect the power cord from the product. Hold the power cable by the plug and do not touch the cable with wet hands. Otherwise, an electric shock may result.
- Wipe the monitor with a clean, soft, and dry cloth.
- Do not apply a cleaning agent that contains alcohol, solvent, or surfactant to the monitor.
- Do not spray water or detergent directly on the product.
- Wet a soft and dry cloth in water and wring thoroughly to clean the exterior of the product.
- Connect the power cord to the product when cleaning is finished.
- Power on the product and computer.

4.1. Physical Dimensions and Controls

5. Setup & Connection
The Elecrow 8-inch monitor is designed for plug-and-play compatibility with various devices.
5.1. Connecting to Raspberry Pi
Preparations:
- Raspberry Pi Board (4B, 3B+, 3B, 2B+, 2B)
- 8-inch HDMI Monitor
- HDMI to HDMI/HDMI to Micro HDMI cable (depending on Pi model)
- USB A to Micro USB Cable
- 5V/2A or 5V/3A Power Adapter
Connection Steps:
- Connect the monitor to your Raspberry Pi using the appropriate HDMI cable.
- Connect the monitor's USB Type C port to a USB A port on the Raspberry Pi (for touch function and power).
- Power the Raspberry Pi using a 5V/2A or 5V/3A power adapter.
Note:
- For Raspberry Pi 3B+, 3B, 2B, B+, A, use a full 2A power supply. For Raspberry Pi 4B, use a full 3A power supply.
- For the touch version monitor, no extra driver is needed. Just connect the USB cable to the signal output device (not power adapter) to achieve the touch function.
5.2. Connecting to PC/Laptop (with HDMI Port)
Connection Steps:
- Connect the monitor to your PC/Laptop using the HDMI to HDMI cable.
- Connect the monitor's USB Type C port to a USB port on your PC/Laptop (for touch function and power).
- Ensure your PC/Laptop is powered on.
Note:
- Always connect the cables first, then power on the devices.
- If the power supply from the USB port of the connected device is insufficient, please connect an external power source to the monitor's DC port.
5.3. Initial Use
- Connect to power and attach the screen to your device.
- Power on the device; the screen will light up automatically.
- Adjust the screen angle or brightness for optimal viewing experience.
6. Screen Setup (OSD Menu)
6.1. How to Reconfigure OSD (On-Screen Display) Menu
- Press the MENU button to activate the OSD menu.
- Press the +/- button to toggle between options in the menu. As you move from one icon to another, the option item is marked with a shadow.
- Press the MENU button to select the shadow marked item on the menu.
- Press the +/- button to select the parameter.
- Press the MENU button to enter the slide bar and then use the +/- button to make your changes, according to the indicators on the menu.
- Press the AUTO button to save the setting and return to the previous menu. If you want to adjust any other functions, repeat steps 2-5.
6.2. OSD Function Introduction
The OSD menu allows you to adjust various display settings:
- Colour Settings:
- Contrast: Adjusting range from 0 to 100.
- Brightness: Adjusting range from 0 to 100.
- Colour Temp: Adjust the Color Temperature mode (6500K/9300K/USER).
- Picture Settings:
- Sharpness: Adjusting range from 0 to 5.
- Other options like H. Position, V. Position, Phase, Clock.
- OSD Settings:
- Language: Select OSD language (English, German, Korean, Chinese Traditional, Japanese, French, Spanish, Italian, Chinese Simplified, Portuguese).
- OSD H. POS.: Adjust the horizontal position of the OSD menu (0 to 100).
- OSD V. POS.: Adjust the vertical position of the OSD menu (0 to 100).
- OSD Timer: Adjust OSD timeout from 0 (off) to 60 seconds.
- Misc Settings:
- Reset: Select "Yes" to revert all settings to the factory default mode.
