Keep in mind that using FreedConn can limit the audibility of ambient sounds. Listening to music at maximum volume in addition to temporarily adapting to make it impossible to hear soft sounds can lead to permanent hearing damage.

Warm Tips

For the best sound quality experience, ensure speakers are within 2mm of your ears. The R1 Plus can only be paired with FreedConn T-MAX S, T-MAX E, T-REX, and F1 Plus multi-person intercom machines. The default Wi-Fi password is 12345678.

Setup and Installation

3.1 Assembly Steps

  1. Insert Memory Card: Insert the memory card into the slot at the bottom of the main unit.

  2. Loosen Clamp: Loosen the clamp by turning the screw counter-clockwise.
  3. Mount Clamp: Open the inner lining on the left side of the helmet, insert the clamp into the appropriate position between the left EPS and the shell, and tighten the screw. Note: If the screw is too tight, the clamp may be broken.
  4. Install Main Unit: Align the R1 host with the card slot and install it on the base.
  5. Attach Speaker Velcro: Open the inner lining of both sides of the helmet and stick the earphone Velcro on the surface of the EPS at the ear position.
  6. Attach Speaker: Attach the speaker to the Velcro tape.
  7. Prepare Microphone: Remove the triangle scrap from the microphone.
  8. Position Microphone: Stick the microphone on the EPS inside the helmet or the shell, just at the mouth position.
  9. Connect Earphone: Insert the earphone plug into the jack on the R1.

3.2 Disassembly Steps

To disassemble the unit from the helmet, press and push the main unit to release it from the base. Then, carefully remove the speakers and microphone.

  • Video Indicator Light: Shows video recording status.

Power On/Off

Press and hold the Power button to turn the device on or off. Voice prompts will indicate the status.

Bluetooth Pairing and Connection

The R1 Plus uses Bluetooth 5.0 for stable and high-quality audio. It can connect to two Bluetooth devices simultaneously, such as two phones or one phone and a GPS device.

  • Phone Connection: Connect to 1 or 2 phones to manage calls, play music, and receive navigation info.
  • GPS Connection: Connect to a GPS device for real-time navigation prompts.
  • Intercom Pairing: The R1 Plus supports intercom communication with up to 6 riders over a distance of 1000 meters. It is compatible with FreedConn T-MAX S, T-MAX E, T-REX, and F1 Plus models.
  • Walkie-Talkie Connection: The unit can be connected to a hand-held walkie-talkie via a control line for additional communication options.

Camera and Video Recording

The R1 Plus features a built-in 1080P, 120° wide-angle camera for recording your rides. It supports loop recording and can capture photos.

  • Start/Stop Recording: Use the dedicated video button or the mobile app to start and stop recording.
  • Loop Recording: Video can be divided into segments (1/2/3/5/10 minutes). When the TF card is full, the latest video will automatically overwrite the oldest file.
  • Photo Capture: Take photos while recording or in standby mode.

WiFi and App Control

The R1 Plus includes a WiFi module for seamless connection to your smartphone via the GoPlus Cam App. This allows you to view and download videos/photos, and remotely control settings.

  • App Download: Download the "GoPlus Cam" app from your smartphone's app store.
  • Connect via WiFi: Turn on WiFi on the R1 Plus and connect your phone to its WiFi network. The default password is 12345678.
  • Functions: Use the app to view live camera feed, playback recorded footage, download files, and adjust camera settings.

FM Radio

The R1 Plus comes with a built-in FM radio, allowing you to listen to your favorite radio stations, news, and traffic information while riding.

Voice Assistant

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the unit. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Water Resistance: The R1 Plus is IP65 waterproof. While it can withstand rain, avoid submerging it in water. Ensure all ports are securely closed when exposed to moisture.

  • Storage: Store the device in a cool, dry place when not in use. Avoid extreme temperatures.
  • Battery Care: For optimal battery life, charge the device regularly and avoid fully discharging it for extended periods. The device can be used while charging.

Troubleshooting

  • No Power: Ensure the battery is charged. Connect the device to a power source using the provided Type-C cable.
  • Cannot Pair Bluetooth:
    • Ensure both devices are in pairing mode.
    • Check if the R1 Plus is already connected to another device.
    • Restart both the R1 Plus and the device you are trying to pair.
    • Remember that R1 Plus has specific compatibility for multi-person intercoms (T-MAX S, T-MAX E, T-REX, F1 Plus).
  • No Sound from Speakers:
    • Check speaker connections to the main unit.
    • Ensure speakers are positioned correctly, close to your ears (within 2mm).
    • Adjust volume levels on both the R1 Plus and the connected device.
  • Video Recording Issues (e.g., stops recording, camera not working):
    • Ensure a TF card is properly inserted and has sufficient free space.
    • Check the TF card for errors or corruption. Try formatting the card (this will erase all data).
    • Verify camera settings via the GoPlus Cam App.
    • If recording stops unexpectedly, it might be due to a full memory card and loop recording settings.
  • WiFi Connection Problems:
    • Ensure WiFi is enabled on the R1 Plus.
    • Verify the WiFi password (default is 12345678).
    • Restart the R1 Plus and your smartphone's WiFi.
  • Poor Audio Quality / Noise:
    • Ensure the microphone is positioned correctly to minimize wind noise.
    • Check for obstructions between the intercom units during group communication.
    • The device features noise reduction, but extreme conditions may still affect quality.
