3. Setup

3.1 Initial Checks

  1. Before use, confirm that this product is compatible with your temperature control equipment.
  2. Before installation, confirm that the plug type of this product is suitable for your local standard and heating/cooling equipment.

3.2 Physical Connection

  1. Plug the thermostat into a standard wall power outlet.
  2. Connect your heating or cooling appliance (e.g., radiator, fan heater) to the outlet on the thermostat.
  3. Connect the external 2.5m NTC10K sensor to the external sensor connector on the side of the thermostat. Ensure the sensor is placed in the area where you want to measure the temperature accurately.

3.3 App Download and Pairing (for WiFi models)

  1. Download the Smartlife App from the Apple App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android).
  2. Open the Smartlife App and register/log in.
  3. Follow the in-app instructions to add a new device. Ensure your thermostat is in pairing mode (refer to the app for specific instructions, usually involves holding a button on the thermostat).
  4. Connect the thermostat to your home WiFi network through the app.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Display Elements

4.2 Operating Modes

Press the 'Mode' button (usually indicated by a square icon) to switch between the following modes:

  • Manual Mode: The thermostat controls the device according to the manually set temperature.
  • Programming Mode: The screen displays the current programming cycle. The thermostat controls the device according to the weekly programming schedule.
  • Temporary Manual Mode: In this mode, you can manually adjust the temperature. The screen will display a flashing icon. The thermostat will execute the current set temperature, and then restore to the programming cycle after the temporary period.
  • Holiday Mode: The screen will display specific icons. The thermostat will maintain a fixed temperature until the holiday is over. Lasting days of Holiday Mode can be set in the APP.

4.3 5+1+1 Programming Mode Setting

The thermostat supports a 7-day programming mode (5+1+1, meaning 5 weekdays, Saturday, and Sunday) with 6 periods to adjust different temperatures throughout the day.

  • For WiFi Version: Programming can be set directly in the Smartlife App.
  • For Non-WiFi Version: Long press the 'Mode' button (square icon) to enter the clock setting. Then press the 'Mode' button 4 times to enter the programming mode setting. Use the Up/Down arrows to select and set the hour, temperature, and cycle. After completing the setting, shut down the device once to store the data.

4.4 App Control (for WiFi models)

The Smartlife App provides a concise and user-friendly interface for controlling your thermostat:

  • Home Page: Displays current temperature and allows quick adjustments.
  • 5+1+1 Setting: Easily configure your weekly temperature schedule.
  • Mode Selection: Switch between Manual, Programming, Temporary Manual, and Holiday modes.
  • More Functions: Access advanced settings like child lock, holiday days, temperature scale, and connect smart voice audio guides (Alexa, Google Assistant).
  • Device Information: Modify device name, view virtual ID, check device network, and update firmware.

4.5 Voice Control (for WiFi models)

Once connected to the Smartlife App and linked with Alexa or Google Assistant, you can use voice commands for hands-free control:

  • Example Commands:
    • "Alexa, adjust the temperature to 25°C."
    • "Google, set the air conditioning timer for 35 minutes."

5. Maintenance

  • Keep the thermostat clean by wiping it with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Ensure the external sensor is free from dust and obstructions to maintain accurate temperature readings.
  • Avoid exposing the device to extreme temperatures, humidity, or direct sunlight.
  • Do not attempt to disassemble or repair the device yourself. Contact customer support for any issues.

6. Troubleshooting

  • Device not powering on: Ensure the thermostat is securely plugged into a working power outlet. Check the power supply to the outlet.
  • Incorrect temperature readings: Verify that the external sensor is properly connected and placed in an area representative of the desired temperature. Ensure it is not covered or exposed to direct heat/cold sources.
  • App connectivity issues:
    • Ensure your home WiFi network is active and the signal strength is adequate where the thermostat is located.
    • Restart the thermostat and your mobile device.
    • Check if the Smartlife App is updated to the latest version.
    • If pairing fails, try resetting the thermostat to factory settings (refer to app or device instructions for reset procedure) and re-attempt pairing.
  • Device not responding to commands: Check if the child lock function is activated. If so, unlock it before attempting to change settings.
  • For any equipment failure or persistent issues, please contact after-sales service. Do not attempt to repair it yourself.

7. User Tips

  • Optimal Sensor Placement: For the most accurate temperature control, place the external sensor away from direct drafts, heat sources, or direct sunlight.
  • Familiarize with App Settings: Explore all the advanced options within the Smartlife App, such as temperature calibration, holiday mode settings, and child lock configurations, to customize your experience.
  • Test Programming Modes: Before relying on programmed schedules, test each period and mode to ensure they function as expected with your connected appliance.
  • Voice Command Practice: Practice various voice commands with Alexa or Google Assistant to become comfortable with hands-free operation.
