ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Radio does not power on.Battery is depleted or AC adapter is not connected/functioning.Connect the AC adapter and ensure it's plugged into a working outlet. Allow the battery to charge for some time before attempting to power on again.
Poor radio reception.Antenna not extended, weak signal, or interference.Fully extend the whip antenna. For AM, connect and adjust the external AM antenna. Try repositioning the radio or moving away from electronic devices that may cause interference.
No sound from speaker.Volume too low, headphones connected, or mute function active.Increase the volume. Disconnect headphones if present. Check if the radio has a mute function and deactivate it.
USB/SD card not playing.Incorrect mode selected, incompatible file format, or corrupted media.Ensure "USB" or "SD" mode is selected. Check if audio files are in a compatible format. Try a different USB drive or SD card.

10. User Tips

  • Frequency Exploration: The GR-228 supports a wide range of frequencies (AM/FM/MW/SW/DRM). Use the auto-scan feature to quickly find active stations in your area. For specific frequencies, manual tuning with the Skip Rotary provides precise control.
  • Optimal DRM Reception: For the best DRM digital radio experience, ensure the whip antenna is fully extended and try to position the radio near a window or outdoors if possible, especially for distant signals.
  • External AM Antenna: Don't underestimate the external AM antenna. It can significantly improve reception on the AM/MW bands, which are often prone to interference. Experiment with its placement for the clearest signal.
