1. Introduction

The HTRC C45A Intelligent Pulse Repair Charger is an efficient, safe, and smart charging device designed for various battery types. It is suitable for 6V, 12V, and 24V batteries, including lead-acid (AGM, GEL, EFB, MF, FLOODED, VRLA, SLA, WET), lithium, and LiFePO4 batteries. This charger utilizes advanced smart charging technology to ensure quick charging while protecting the battery and extending its lifespan.

3. Setup and Connection

Follow these steps to set up and connect your HTRC C45A Smart Battery Charger:

  1. Prepare the Battery: Ensure the battery terminals are clean and free from corrosion.
  2. Connect the Charger to Power: Plug the extension power cord into the charger and then into a standard AC power outlet (100V-240V~50/60Hz). The charger's display should light up.
  3. Connect Alligator Clips to Battery:
    • Connect the RED (+) alligator clip to the positive (+) terminal of the battery.
    • Connect the BLACK (-) alligator clip to the negative (-) terminal of the battery.

    Important: Ensure correct polarity. The charger has reverse connection protection, but always double-check to prevent issues.

  4. Verify Connection: The charger will automatically detect the battery voltage and type. The display will show the current voltage and other charging parameters.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Smart One-Click Charging

The HTRC C45A charger features smart one-click charging, automatically identifying the battery voltage (6V/12V/24V) and type (Lithium, LiFePO4, Lead-Acid including AGM, Calcium, GEL, MF, EFB, SLA, VRLA, WET, etc.).

4.2 Charging Modes and Current Selection

The charger offers three speed current selections (Low, Medium, High) and a dedicated Repair Mode. The charger automatically recognizes the battery voltage and suggests appropriate current levels.

4.3 9-Stage Smart Charging Process

The charger employs a 9-stage smart charging process for efficient and safe battery charging:

  1. Battery desulfation
  2. Soft start charging
  3. Bulk charging
  4. Absorption charging
  5. Trickle charging
  6. Battery test
  7. Recondition charging
  8. Float & maintenance charging
  9. Small current to maintain charging

This fully automatic process detects battery condition, desulfates, and repairs automatically.

4.4 Winter and Summer Mode

The charger features an all-weather optimized Winter and Summer Mode. This intelligent function adjusts the charging parameters based on ambient temperature to prevent over-charging in hot weather and under-charging in cold weather, ensuring optimal battery health.

5. Maintenance and Repair Mode

5.1 Repair Mode

The Repair Mode (PUL) is designed to improve battery performance, provide stronger engine starts, and extend battery life. It automatically detects sulfation and acid stratification, then repairs and reverses battery damage. This mode is particularly useful for bringing older or deeply discharged batteries back to life.

5.2 General Care

  • Keep the charger clean and dry.
  • Store in a cool, dry place when not in use.
  • Avoid dropping or subjecting the charger to strong impacts.
  • Do not attempt to open or modify the charger.

6.2 Short Circuit Protection Demonstration

6.3 Reverse Connection Protection Demonstration

If the alligator clips are connected to the battery terminals with incorrect polarity, the charger will detect this and prevent charging, protecting both the charger and the battery. Do not attempt to imitate professional tests of this feature.

  • Charging Deeply Discharged Batteries: The charger's intelligent control and repair mode are designed to handle deeply discharged batteries. If your battery is in a sub-charge protection mode, the charger's desulfation and recondition stages may help reactivate it.
  • Optimal Charging Speed: For faster charging, select the 'High' current mode appropriate for your battery voltage. For maintenance or smaller batteries, 'Low' or 'Medium' might be more suitable.
  • Temperature Adaptation: Allow the charger to operate in its automatic Winter/Summer mode for optimal charging performance based on ambient temperature.
