Setup & Installation
Proper installation is crucial for accurate readings. Follow these steps carefully.
1. Battery Installation
The bicycle computer and sensor (for wireless models) require button batteries (CR2032). Use a flat-blade screwdriver to open the battery cover, insert the battery with the positive (+) side facing up, and close the cover securely.
2. Mounting the Computer Unit
Fix the mounting shoe/bracket onto your bicycle's handlebar or stem using the provided cable ties. Ensure it is securely fastened and positioned for easy viewing.

For the SD-689 Stopwatch Stand, use the soft glue, hexagon wrench, and bracket to secure it to the handlebar. This L-shaped design allows the computer to be maintained in front of the handlebars, occupying a small angle of view for comfortable viewing.

3. Sensor and Magnet Installation (Wired & Wireless)
The sensor and magnet work together to measure speed and distance. Correct alignment is critical.
- **Mount the Sensor:** Tie the sensor onto the front fork of your bicycle using cable ties.
- **Mount the Magnet:** Tie the magnet onto a spoke of your front wheel.
- **Align Sensor and Magnet:** The magnet should pass directly in front of the sensor. The distance between the magnet and the sensor should be less than 1.5mm.
- **Distance between Sensor and Computer (Wireless models only):** For wireless models, ensure the distance between the sensor and the computer unit is less than 80cm for reliable signal transmission.

4. Initial Setup (Wheel Circumference)
After installation, you will need to set the wheel circumference for accurate speed and distance readings. Refer to the specific instructions provided with your model for entering this value (usually in millimeters).
Operating Instructions
Basic Operation
Most Sunding bicycle computers feature one or two buttons (often labeled MODE and SET or UP/MODE/SET) for navigation and setting. Pressing these buttons allows you to cycle through different display modes and adjust settings.
Backlight Function
The automatic backlight function is typically activated between 18:00 (6 PM) and 7:00 (7 AM). During this period, the backlight will turn on automatically when any button is pressed or motion is detected, providing visibility in low-light conditions. It will not work at other times to conserve battery.

Power Saving Mode
To conserve battery life, the computer will enter a power-saving mode after approximately 300 seconds (5 minutes) of no motion input. The screen display will turn off, but the clock (CLK) will continue to run. When driving input is detected or any button is pressed, the computer will wake up and restore the previous display mode.

Wireless Remote Control (SD-568C/SD-576C)
Some wireless models (e.g., SD-568C, SD-576C) may include a wired remote control key. This allows you to switch functional interfaces without removing your hands from the handlebars, enhancing safety and convenience.

Bluetooth Connectivity (SD-518 Sensor)
The SD-518 Bluetooth 4.0 wireless bike combo sensor can connect to mainstream riding apps on your smartphone. After a quick connection, you can use apps like JoycuneLite, MapMyRIDE, MapMyFitness, Wahoo Fitness, Endomondo, and Runtastic Road bike to track your speed and cadence data.

Functions
Sunding bicycle computers offer a wide range of functions to track your cycling performance. The number of functions may vary by model (e.g., 23 functions for SD-568AE, 18 for SD-568C, 27 for SD-576C).

Common functions include:
- **SPD (Current Speed):** Displays your real-time cycling speed.
- **AVS (Average Speed):** Shows the average speed of your current trip.
- **MXS (Maximum Speed):** Records the highest speed achieved during your trip.
- **DST (Trip Distance):** Measures the distance covered in your current trip.
- **ODO (Odometer):** Tracks the total accumulated cycling distance.
- **TM (Elapsed Time):** Displays the duration of your current ride.
- **CLK (Clock):** Shows the current time (12H/24H selectable).
- **CAL (Calories):** Estimates calories burned during your ride.
- **FAT (Fat Burn):** Estimates fat burned.
- **Temperature:** Displays the ambient temperature.

- **Setting Tyre Circumference:** User-adjustable setting for wheel size.
- **Setting Rider's Weight:** User-adjustable setting for calorie calculation.
- **Setting Speed Scale:** Selectable units (km/h or m/h).
Maintenance
- **Cleaning:** Wipe the computer unit and sensor with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- **Water Resistance:** The units are water-resistant (splash-proof or deep waterproofing), but avoid submerging them in water. Ensure battery covers are tightly sealed.
- **Battery Replacement:** Replace the CR2032 button battery when the low battery indicator appears or the display becomes dim. Ensure correct polarity.
- **Storage:** When not in use for extended periods, remove the battery to prevent leakage. Store in a cool, dry place.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your bicycle computer, refer to the table below for common problems and solutions.

| Malfunction | Problem / Solution |
|---|---|
| Inaccurate maximum speed reading | Unknown atmospheric or RF interference. Try moving away from sources of interference. |
| No speedometer reading | Improper magnet/transmitter alignment. Check battery and correct installation (ensure magnet-sensor gap is <1.5mm). |
| Black display | Temperature too hot, or display exposed to direct sunlight too long. Move to a cooler, shaded area. |
| No trip distance reading alignment | Check correct sensor/magnet alignment. Check battery and correct installation. |
| Display shows irregular figures | Take out computer battery and install again (reset). |
If the problem persists after trying these solutions, please contact customer support.
User Tips
- **Sensor-Magnet Distance:** Always ensure the distance between the magnet and the sensor is less than 1.5mm for accurate readings. This is a common point of error during installation.
- **Wireless Signal:** For wireless models, keep the distance between the sensor and the computer unit under 80cm to maintain a stable connection.
- **Battery Life:** The automatic backlight feature is designed to save power. If you notice the display dimming or functions becoming erratic, replace the CR2032 battery promptly.
- **Environmental Packaging:** Note that some products may come in environmentally friendly packaging without an original retail box. The product itself is new and fully functional.
