1. Introduction
The CHUNGHOP L336 is a universal learning remote control designed to consolidate up to three infrared (IR) remote controls into one device. It is compatible with a wide range of appliances including TVs, VCRs, Satellite receivers (SAT), Cable boxes (CBL), DVD players, VCD players, CD players, and HI-FI systems. This remote employs an advanced intelligent chipset to provide 42 keys for learning functions from your existing IR remote controls, retaining these settings permanently.
Please note that while it can copy most infrared remote controls, some special remote control codes, such as those for air conditioning units, may not be compatible due to their unique signal protocols. Ensure you have a functional original remote control for the learning process.

4.2 Learning Function Setup
The primary feature of the L336 remote is its ability to learn functions from your existing infrared remote controls. Follow these steps to program the learning function:

Figure 5: Visual guide for programming the learning function.
- Enter Learning Mode: Press and hold the device button you wish to program (e.g., "TV", "SAT", "DVD", "CBL") on the CHUNGHOP L336 remote. Release the button when the red indicator lamp lights up and stays on.
- Position Remotes: Aim the top of your original remote control directly at the top of the CHUNGHOP L336 remote, maintaining a distance of 1-3 cm.
- Initiate Learning: Press the button on the CHUNGHOP L336 remote that you want to teach a function (e.g., "VOL+"). The indicator light will flash, indicating it has entered learning mode for that specific button.
- Transmit Signal: Press the corresponding button on your original remote control (e.g., "VOL+"). The CHUNGHOP L336's indicator light will flash quickly, then turn into a long bright state, signifying successful learning.
- Repeat for More Buttons: If you need to program other buttons for the same device, repeat steps 3 and 4.
- Exit Learning Mode: Once all desired buttons are programmed for the current device, click the device button (e.g., "TV") again on the CHUNGHOP L336 remote. The indicator light will turn off, and the learning setup will be exited.
Note: If your original remote control has multiple learning pages or modes, ensure you press the correct button on the L336 that corresponds to the target function you wish to learn.
5. Operating Instructions
After successfully programming the learning functions, you can use the CHUNGHOP L336 remote to control your devices.
- Select Device Mode: Press the corresponding device button (TV, SAT, DVD, CBL, etc.) at the top of the remote to switch to the desired device mode. The indicator light may briefly illuminate to confirm the selection.
- Control Functions: Once in the correct device mode, press the learned buttons (e.g., Power, Volume Up/Down, Channel Up/Down, Menu, OK, Number keys) to control your appliance.
- Universal Functions: Buttons like the number pad (0-9), P.N.S, and Return are generally universal or can be programmed for specific functions across different devices.

6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the remote control. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or harsh chemicals, as these may damage the surface or internal components.
- Battery Replacement: Replace batteries when the remote's performance degrades or the indicator light does not illuminate during operation. Always replace both batteries at the same time with new AAA batteries. Do not mix old and new batteries or different types of batteries.
- Storage: Store the remote in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and high humidity.
- Avoid Drops: Protect the remote from drops and impacts, which can damage its internal circuitry.
7. Troubleshooting
- Remote not responding:
- Check if the batteries are inserted correctly and have sufficient charge. Replace if necessary.
- Ensure there are no obstructions between the remote and the device.
- Verify that the remote is pointed directly at the device's IR receiver.
- Learning function not working:
- Ensure the original remote control is functional and has fresh batteries.
- Maintain the 1-3 cm distance between the two remotes during the learning process.
- Make sure the indicator light on the L336 remote behaves as described in the "Learning Function Setup" section.
- Some specific remote control codes (e.g., for air conditioners) may not be learnable.
- Try repeating the learning process carefully, ensuring each step is followed precisely.
- Buttons not performing desired function:
- Re-program the specific button using the learning function.
- Ensure you are in the correct device mode (TV, DVD, etc.) for the appliance you are trying to control.
8. User Tips
- Label Device Buttons: If you use the remote for multiple devices, consider using small labels or markers near the device selection buttons (TV, SAT, DVD) to quickly identify which device is programmed to which button.
- Backup Original Remotes: Keep your original remote controls in a safe place even after programming the L336, in case you need to re-learn functions or for devices not compatible with the L336.
- Optimal Learning Environment: Perform the learning process in a well-lit area, but avoid direct sunlight or strong artificial light that might interfere with IR signals.
