7. Operating Instructions
7.1 Performing a Battery Test
- After connecting the tester as described in Section 6, the device will power on and display the main menu or start an automatic test.
- Use the navigation buttons (Up/Down arrows) to select the desired battery type (e.g., STD, AGM, GEL, EFB).
- Adjust the CCA value to match your battery's rating using the Up/Down arrows.
- Press the 'ENTER' button to start the test.
- The test results will be displayed on the large HD screen within approximately 10 seconds.

The intelligent chip simplifies operation, allowing for one-key measurement.
7.2 Interpreting Test Results
The tester displays multiple data points to help you understand your battery's condition:
- SOH (State of Health): Indicates the overall health of the battery, typically shown as a percentage.
- SOC (State of Charge): Shows the current charge level of the battery, also as a percentage.
- CCA Value (Cold Cranking Amps): The measured CCA of the battery, compared to its rated CCA.
- IR (Internal Resistance): A lower internal resistance generally indicates a healthier battery.
- VOLT (Voltage): The current voltage of the battery.
- EDC (Discharge Current): Detectable discharge current.
The display will also provide a general status such as 'PERFECT', 'GOOD', 'BAD', 'REPLACE', or 'RECHARGE'.

The tester can detect and display internal resistance, voltage, discharge current, battery power, and battery life.
7.3 Why Test Your Battery?
A common issue is a car failing to start, which might be due to a dead battery or other power-consuming devices. The E-FAST battery tester helps accurately determine the battery's condition, preventing unnecessary battery replacements and identifying if other issues are draining power.

The tester helps determine if your battery needs replacement or if other devices are consuming too much power.

8. Maintenance
- Clean the tester's housing with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Keep the battery clamps clean and free of debris to ensure good electrical contact.
- Store the device in a cool, dry place when not in use.
- Avoid dropping the tester or subjecting it to strong impacts.
9. Troubleshooting
- Tester does not power on: Ensure the clamps are correctly and securely connected to the battery terminals. Check if the battery has sufficient voltage (above 8V).
- Inaccurate readings: Clean battery terminals and tester clamps. Ensure the correct battery type and CCA rating are selected in the tester's settings.
- "Poor Contact" message: Re-attach the clamps firmly to the battery terminals, ensuring full contact.
- Reverse connection warning: Disconnect immediately and re-connect the red clamp to positive (+) and black clamp to negative (-). The device is protected against reverse polarity.
10. User Tips
- For consistent results, always test the battery when it is fully charged and has rested for at least 30 minutes after charging or use.
- If your battery consistently shows a 'RECHARGE' status, consider checking your vehicle's charging system (alternator) for proper function.
- Keep a record of your battery test results over time to monitor its degradation and anticipate replacement needs.
