3. Setup and Installation

The Wallpad L3-BG-DIY system is designed for modular assembly. Both the frame and individual functional keys (switches, sockets) are sold separately, allowing for complete customization.

3.1 Component Assembly

To assemble your desired switch or socket configuration, select a frame (e.g., 6M frame) and the corresponding functional modules. The modules snap into the frame. Ensure you have the correct size frame for your chosen modules.

3.3 Wiring Diagrams

Proper wiring is crucial for safe and correct operation. Always consult a qualified electrician if you are unsure about any wiring procedures. The following diagrams illustrate common wiring configurations:

Figure 6: Wiring diagrams for various switch and socket types.
  • Power Socket: Connect Null Wire (N), Ground Wire (G), and Live Wire (L) to the corresponding terminals.
  • 1 Way Switch: Controls one lamp from a single location. Connect Live Wire to L, and the lamp wire to L1.
  • 2 Way Switch: Two 2-way switches control one lamp from two different locations. Connect Live Wire to L on the first switch, then L1 and L2 between the two switches. The lamp wire connects to L1 on the second switch.
  • Intermediate Switch: Used with two 2-way switches to control one lamp from three or more locations. The intermediate switch connects between the two 2-way switches, managing the L1 and L2 connections.

4. Operating Instructions

The Wallpad modular system includes various types of switches and sockets, each with specific functionalities:

  • Switches: Available in 1, 2, 3, and 4 gang configurations. 'Gang' refers to the number of buttons on the switch.
  • 1 Way Operation: A single switch controls a single lamp or device.
  • 2 Way Operation: Two switches can control a single lamp or device from two different locations. Note that dimmer and fan switches typically do not support 2-way operation.
  • Indicator Lights: Switch A models feature a fluorescent indicator. Switch B and Switch C models are equipped with an LED indicator.
  • Dimmer Switch: Allows adjustment of light intensity.
  • Fan Switch: Controls fan speed.
  • Sockets: Various types available including US, EU, French, Brazil, Italian, USB, Data, TV, Satellite, and Universal sockets for power and connectivity.

5. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and safe operation of your Wallpad switches and sockets, follow these general maintenance guidelines:

  • Cleaning: Wipe the surface with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners, solvents, or excessive moisture, as these can damage the finish or internal components.
  • Inspection: Periodically check for any loose connections, cracks, or damage to the frame or modules. If any damage is found, discontinue use and replace the affected component.
  • Professional Check: For any internal electrical issues or concerns, it is recommended to consult a qualified electrician.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues with your Wallpad modular system, consider the following:

  • No Power/Functionality: Check the main circuit breaker. Ensure all wiring connections are secure and correct according to the wiring diagrams in Section 3.3.
  • Indicator Light Not Working: Verify the module is correctly seated in the frame and wired properly. If it's a fluorescent indicator, ensure sufficient power is supplied.
  • Loose Module/Frame: Ensure the mounting screws are tightened appropriately. Do not overtighten.

For persistent issues or complex electrical problems, it is strongly recommended to contact a qualified electrician or Wallpad customer support for assistance.

7. Warranty and Support
