4.3 Installation Procedures

4.3.1 Preparation Work Before Installation

Ensure the sliding gate is correctly installed, the gate rail is horizontal, and the gate can be manually moved smoothly before installing the gate opener.

Cable Installation

To ensure normal operation and protect cables from damage, bury the motor & power cable and controlling cable separately with two PVC tubes.

Concrete Pedestal

Precast a concrete pedestal (e.g., 400mm x 250mm, 200mm depth) in advance to firmly install the SL600AC gate opener. Ensure the distance between the gate and gate opener is appropriate before casting the pedestal.

Embedded Screws
Figure 4: Diagram showing a concrete pedestal with embedded foundation bolts and mounting plate, with power line routing.
Figure 4: Concrete pedestal with embedded foundation bolts and mounting plate.

4.3.2 Main Engine Installation

  1. Dismantle the plastic housing on the main engine before installation and keep relevant fasteners properly.
  2. Prepare the power line for connecting the mounting plate to the main engine (power supply cable cores: ≥3 PCS, sectional area: ≥1.5mm², length determined by installation spot).
  3. Unlock the main engine before installation: insert the key, open the manual release bar until it rotates by 90° (see Figure 5). Then turn the output gear so it rotates easily.
Figure 5: Diagram showing the manual release bar rotated 90 degrees to unlock the main engine.
Figure 5: Manual release bar rotated 90° to unlock the main engine.

4.3.3 Gear Rack Installation

  • Fix the mounting screws to the rack.
  • Place the rack on the output gear, ensure it engages, then weld the mounting screw to the gate (each screw with one solder joint first).
  • Manually move the gate (after motor unlocked) to check for fit clearance between rack and output gear (see Figure 7).
  • Weld all mounting screws to the gate firmly.
  • Ensure all racks are on the same straight line.
  • Pull the gate after installation to ensure the entire trip is flexible without sticking.

Warnings

  • To ensure safety, install safety stop blocks on both ends of the rail to prevent the gate from running out of the rail.
  • Before installing the main engine, ensure safety stop blocks are in place and function correctly.
  • Ensure the main engine and its components have good mechanical properties, and the gate can be operated flexibly when manually moved before installing the main engine.
  • One control can only drive one main engine; otherwise, the control system will be damaged.
  • An Earth leakage circuit breaker must be installed where the gate movement can be seen, with a minimum mounting height of 1.5m to avoid children touching it.
  • After installation, check mechanical property, gate movement flexibility after manual unlocking, and correct/effective installation of the infrared sensor (optional).
